    Actually I've seen that picture somewhere a long time ago, I can't remember where though - I grew up in NY. Thanks for the link, the article looks familiar too.

    When I needed more information on the practicality of a dome I found a paper on the use of slightly concave geodesic panels to form a dome over Huston, Texas.

    Just curious AJ, Were you inspired at all by Buckminster Fuller, the guy who came up with the geodesic dome?

    When I was young I read some of his (rather far out) ideas. He pretty much thought we could "fix" the world with better engineering. In an age when the concept of "human progress" has pretty much died, I must confess I liked the old guy.
