I'm Dr. Rand Paul, devoted husband and father, senator from Kentucky, and 2016 United States presidential candidate.

I am running for president to return our country to the principles of liberty and limited government. I am an advocate of a balanced budget amendment, term limits, and privacy reform. I’m proud to be here in Galt’s Gulch with you today and will be back at 4PM ET to provide answers to your questions.

Ask me anything.

A college stop at Florida Tech, a private non-tenure granting university in Melbourne, FL, would be most welcome.

He would have him face "fair" jail time, but, he also believes that people need to be able to whistle blow when it's appropriate and he's claimed that he's currently working on legislation that would allow for whistle-blowing in the sector Snowden was working in.

Fox News only interested in (1) establishment candidate (Bush), and (2) candidate to boost ratings (Trump).

I'm going to ask this again. Forgive me if you've already answered this. Why after spending so much time as Senator fighting against illegal spying and the NSA, and repealing the "Patriot" Act would you not grand Snowden a pardon if he were to return to the U.S.? I am a huge supporter, but your stance on this issue really bothers me and many other of your supporters as well.

He addresses this in his tax plan which gives an automatic deductible of 15,000. So you only pay 14.5% on income over 15,000, additionally, your FICA Taxes are eliminated and rolled into the 14.5 flat business tax. I was worried about this too but studied his tax plan thoroughly. If you make 15,000 a year, you pay zero income taxes and zero FICA taxes. I'm 100% sure I'm correct, but if Dr. Paul would like to correct me, please do so so that I am better informed

    Hello ,Dr.Paul
My question is about minority outreach and poverty. After 50 years since the war on poverty was declared,it's obvious both parties haven't done a great job on this issue. And Republicans, once the party of civil rights seems to have lost their way and I believe the Democrats take advantage of the black and latino voters The question to you is will you continue and be willing to go out of the 'comfort zone' of most Republicans and visit more poor communities and urban areas like Baltimore,Oakland,Detroit,Chicago,Philadelphia and tour the devastation, poverty, and urban blight of these communities? It's not right that in the richest country in the world,so many of our cities look like 3rd world countries, but yet we can send money overseas to nation build there when we should be building here .The Democrats have let us down and many Republicans ignore us.Thank you.

Senator, Some of the folks in the house and one in the senate have begun to name names and provide detailed information regarding the two faced tactics of most career politicians. I believe that helps us, the employer, publicly call out those folks in the year before elections, do you agree with this tactic and will you join in?

Where do you stand on 'net Neutrality?" Its a touchy subject for me because I make executive decisions for 3 different ISP's we own. Would you allow private corporations forge their own contracts between themselves or would you stifle some of the monopolies that are taking place to break things down into better competition?

I'm ok with not allowing corporations to get "too big" and crush innovation etc. Let the smaller local companies thrive and innovate unhindered. Similar to libertarian principles.

I'm wondering how you feel about the subject..

I agree. A Rand/Sanders debate would be great. There are a lot of fringe, but enthusiastic supporters of both. But I think that if the Sanders supporters would actually take the time to understand Rand's perspectives, I think they'd come to the Rand-side.

We keep talking about our plan at every stop on the campaign trail and I hope to be able to discuss it in details at the next debate.

I will use Executive Orders to reverse so much of what this President has used them to enact. I am the only one running in this race who wants to return more power to the states and not accumulate more for the presidency.

Dr. Paul, I should have been more specific. Do you believe that CO2 drives climate? I believe this is a gross oversimplification of a complex, chaotic system with multiple variables. Are we being deceived to promote a statist agenda? Would you at least investigate the matter, if elected?

My heart jumped reading this reply. I've been dying for a Rand/Sanders debate. I'm in your corner the whole way, but this is the debate America needs. Free Market Capitalism or Democratic Socialism and the two candidates willing to fight the hardest for both. I can't wait to hear the news

I would do whatever it takes to keep America safe. I follow Ronald Reagan’s doctrine of “peace through strength.” America should have the greatest military in the world that defends our interests, but does not intervene unnecessarily.

The goal of our foreign policy should be in pursuing U.S. national interests and keeping our nation and people safe and secure.

If there is a true threat, I support military action to defend our national interest and the interests of close allies. Military force should only be used when there is a clear plan for success.
