Mind Boggling Statistics

This is incredible. The breakdown is as follows: on average, between the House and the Senate, the Congree is asked to consider roughly 4,000 bills per year. Every year. Again on average, the Congress enacts more than 200 new laws every year. That's slightly more than 1 new law each and every weekday. Every year. (please bear in mind that this excludes resolutions.). Now, can anyone explain just why in the bowels of hell we need another new federal law EVERY DAY OF EVERY YEAR???? What are we paying these morons for?????

I only want one bill to rule them all ... by revoking all the rest (passed after the Bill of Rights) as its only function.

I think that all laws should have a sunset provision. All of these laws should be reviewed on a timely basis, and if it turns out the laws are for the most part as stupid as we think, they should be vacated. Any good laws should be renewed. If nothing else, it would keep the little weasels out of mischief.

As long as the people do not understand what little is the proper role of government and enforce it there is no stopping this trend. Even quite bright and freedom loving people I know that the purpose of government is make life as good as possible for the citizens. The all powered state, the state as benevolent all-giver and all-controller is implicit in this.
