I read The Art of the Deal about 20 years ago. I was impressed. Since then, with the television shows and all, I am less willing to doff my hat.

From memory, pardon my errors -- He started off as a kid at the University of Cincinnati, like Francisco d'Anconia, using his allowance to invest in and improve government housing. You can excoriate him for his involvement in Urban Renewal, but, as noted in The Invention of Enterprise those who rise do so within the context of the society into which they were born.

Unless you can show that he read Atlas Shrugged and rejected it, you have to accept the Young Trump on his own terms as a creator of wealth and opportunity.

That requires condemning the adult Trump.

How difficult is it to start with 50 million and get a 10% after tax return for over 40 years, given the interference from government?
If it was done without favortism, bribes, illegal acts, and other corruption and unethical practices, then I would say it is an admirable accomplishment. (Not that I think that Trump is a worthy candidate for POTUS.)
