Most of you have read this, but for those that haven't this explains what's going down. I try to spread the word but as I said in a previous post, to no avail. When I was given this article during the Hillary/Obama Primary, I then got it!!!!!!!

Was the timing of the financial meltdown a coincidence? He has many super rich friends that can sway a market.

As some sey say, think don't believe in coincidenses. I think so, especially when it has serious consequences.

Without the meltdown, the moved towards socialism would have experienced a set back, but they're a patient bunch. They have been since they took root during the time of Wilson, maybe even somewhat before (T. Roosevelt)..

Nope. He must think most Americans are pretty stupid, though, if he thinks we won't take note. Oh, wait!! He's counting on it, because they voted for him! silly me.....

I'm being sarcastic. Transition™, Diversity™, Community™, Global Warming™ & Carbon Footprint™ are all Trademark words of the Left. Do you have a Transition Movement in the US?

Alas, we rarely use alas and sullied in speech.
Why do you have a trademark subscript with "transition?" are you referring to optical lenses or a song, maybe?

Hey Joss, what time is it there... It's 330 am here... I should be in bed but got sucked into watching the Hatfields and McCoys.

Now that is a useful skill. And no, I couldn't sell BS either.

Speaking of BS, it's sad to hear that the American vocabulary too has been sullied with the word Transition™. Alas, inevitable.

Ps. British enough for you KH? :)

I wasn't a sales person...I took incoming calls only, at the phone company, but the last couple of years they did want us to sell stuff...it became our job to "transition" (that words still gives me the shivers) into sales...from answering questions about their bill (that we had undoubtedly screwed up). I am NOT a sales person, never signed up for, never agreed to do it, didn't want their stupid commission...I was morally opposed to schlepping their crap (that they couldn't get right in the first place)...it was horrid. I was forming a plan to be able to quit (at the time I held the health benefits, killer pay etc etc....had kids to feed), but I was a mental mess and was losing myself. (This all before AS.) Anyway, my plan was foiled because they shipped our jobs overseas anyway...lol It was awesome. But to this day I hate talking on the phone...I don't have any tolerance for phone prank videos etc.... But one thing I learned from it all...is how to read a person after 15 seconds of conversation. It's a mad skill I wouldn't trade away.

The author Wilbur Smith [pretty sure, put finding the quote on the to-do list] said "Britain, having failed to share the wealth, had settled for sharing the poverty."

I can well imagine that was 'soul destroying' a lot of the time. I can sympathise to a degree. I know people who work in call centres are employed to 'get business' - & we know how tough that can be.

They don't care if you put the phone down....it looks like they're having a long conversation with a potential buyer (on the phone time/call sheet)... HANG UP on them. A short call looks worse than a long call on their report.
