Same here. Trump lost the very first exchange (and me) by taking the question as a personal attack and responding by attacking the questioner (Megyn Kelly). I don't want him (narcissist personality like our current President) or Christie (bar room bully) anywhere near the White House.
The aftermath of Trump, the stuff that is happening now and his reaction to it, will be his downfall to the "R" party. His personal debate with Rand Paul didn't help either one of them. After this morning, Trump can only further divide the party. People will see him, as my wife expressed it, after hearing some tweets about him passing on some gross comments about Megyn Kelly. My wife said, "We've got an asshole in the White House now, do we need another one?" I think Kelly's question was appropriate, many people want to know. I agree with him on Rosie but I'm not running for president. He's got a "My way or the highway mentality, much like Obama. I don't see him as being any different than Obama, only in a different direction. I think he'll blow it even further, just give him the opportunity.
I was disappointed in Trump. Perhaps he should have done some debate prep instead of going golfing. He could have done so much better, for example use the "will you support the nominee" question to say "You don't take options off the table when making a deal".
I wish Rand Paul would have been better, although it's interesting that he seems the only one who actually cares about the constitution.
I'm shocked at the polling this morning. I guess people are really angry with politicians and the less you look like one the better.
Trump did expose the lie of his, "I am a great negotiator" claim. There will be a lot of those blindsided moments for Trump. Suit full of hot air (like most of the candidates.) I wish I was shocked at the polling, WS, but I get your point. Irrationality is just hard to believe even though we are exposed to it all the time.
I don't think you can be a bad negotiator and do as well as he has done. I have to believe that beneath that bluster there is a shrewd businessman but I didn't see it.
No doubt, in a narrow range of activity, Trump has made some good deals. Is that due to a special ability to negotiate, or due to many other factors like knowledge in the area (positive), pull with politicians (negative), the money to buy inside information (negative)?
oh yes - legalities... I could not claim everything Trump has done is legal. Then again, I may have committed a few misdemeanors (perhaps a felony going over the RR tracks) walking to the store this morning.
Trump ethics may be about the same as a typical politician - except he is less likely to be subtle about it.
In general - Trump's ethics do not seem based on individual freedom and liberty - and in that sense I would not find him nor 95% of our politicians trustworthy.
Trump let Megyn Kelly make him into whining little boy at the get-go of that debate. I was cheering Trump on until that happened. Does Trump think a Demrat (sp ck ok) candidate will play nice at all during a debate? Here it Demrat comes--"War on women!" "War on women!" Ad nauseam. Let's see The Donald "negotiate" such stuff getting under his skin.
Trump was a disappointment, although not an unexpected one. Rand was irritating as well as disappointing. He reminded me of a child arguing with a sibling. I had the mental image of him stamping his foot.
I preferred Carly Fiorino from the Happy Hour debate to anyone from either debate. I was rather surprised at this.
I was also rather surprised to find I disliked Megyn Kelly in this forum. Every time I saw her I got the impression of the supercilious smile and eyerolls of a Mean Girl. She never struck me that way before. I imagine, being an old timer, I have different expectations of what a debate is ...and good TV is not one of them.
Don't know why these two Q & A sessions were called "debates." Everyone plays fast and easy with words these days.
Good Grief. I think that those who voted for Trump miss their daddies. It's obvious that they don't care what he says so long as he says it in his bombastic manner.
but why would people like what he said and some of it sounded a bit threatening and not cheer Carly (who I do not think would be a great President-but performed well in the debate).
Not that it's valid, but maybe its because Carly has the rep of a failure and Donald has been on a ridiculous tv show touting his success for years (and never mentioning his failures.) Some people are drawn to people who bully others. That is Trump's attraction.
The only down side for Carly was being lumped in with the bottom 7. Jindal was the only other one who did well in that debate. I hope the other 5 drop out. We have also had over 6 years of a pansy President who has bowed to our enemies and abandoned our friends. Trump talking tough is selling well right now even if it's a little off the mark at times.
Carly was impressive, but by being lumped in with the bottom 7, she probably benefited. Other than Carly and Jindal, the second-teamers proved why they were second-teamers.
She did well enough that people should hear about her now. I think the press likes to avoid talking about her and Ben Carson to play up the "Republican White boy" image.
I've been closely watching Fiorina and Carson for some time, and I think they're the most intelligent candidates we have available. I try to consciously set aside bias of any sort (including class bias, as there are good people in the "one percent"), so gender or race aren't a factor in my assessment.
I am thinking of Fiorino as a VP and Carson as a Cabinet member. I'm not sure they could head the ticket and get elected. Carson is definitely the most intelligent.
That poll is hard to believe. Looks like a lot of people wanting to see the show continue for entertainment ala Donald Clinton. I haven't seen any if the other polls. Needed to take a break.
freedomforall, Trum and Hillary Clinton wouldn't be the only choices? Well, if Trump got the Republican nomin- ation and H. Clinton got the Democratic, a 3rd par- ty or independent vote would be a throw-away vote.--But I hope that won't happen. If Clinton is the Democratic nominee, and somebody like Cruz is the Republican, though, if Trump runs as a 3rd-party candidate or an independent, that could cause Clinton to get it. And that would be a disaster.--I just mean that if Trump gets the Republican nomination, I guess I'll have to hold my nose and vote for him.
The only throw away votes are the ones for evil statists, and that includes all the GOP and Democrats who have a chance to be on the ticket. Third party votes are the only ones that aren't wasted. Disaster? Look at the record of the GOP compared to the lies they tell to get elected EVERY TIME. Look at what the GOP has done since taking control of both houses of con-gress. They have had enough chances to do the right things and to stop lying. Neither the GOP or the Dems have earned your consent and they never will. The sooner people revolt at the ballot box the better the chance that a less peaceful revolt will be avoided.
I think that Trump is like a cross between Ross Perot and P.T.Barnum. I sure hope he doesn't get the nomination, and that enough people have sense enough not to throw their (third-party/independent) votes away on him. Still, if he did get it, I'd vote for him over Hillary Clinton--although that in it- self is no great compliment.

Maybe Sir Jeb was grown out of electrified Royal House of Bush DNA in the basement laboratory.

I the proper definitions are
1.Choice of the DNC
2. Choice of the RINOS scratch that one it's the same
3. Choice of the Republican Party Members and within that segment top tier and second tier.
4. Choice of those who are waiting to see if what they say and what they do are the same.
Welcome to the last election. The next time the suggestion of abdication will not be a joke.
