Excellent points made. The last 2 paragraphs sum up the premise of the article. The true category for this post is ideology.

Capitalism might work if the banking system wasn't using government to feed all productive proceeds to themselves. But after all, Goldman Sachs is doing Gods work. How can we, mere mortals interfere?
Anybody know where the free markets are hidden?

I think everyone here agrees that.... capitalism doesn't really work... not without government as a partner...

    A caretaker, really...

(sorry, had to inject that :)

Thank-you. Read the article and will purchase the book for my kindle. Capitalism works, a proven fact. Socialism fails. Another proven fact. Yet the statists continue to push their deadly agenda. Perhaps we need to beat them at their own game and rename capitalism something more pc or cuddly sounding Idiots all. Again, thank-you for the lead.

Actually, I went to the local library a couple years ago to get 1984, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the youth section downstairs; among other common schoolroom classics.

I sincerely hope you are wrong. Hope is the wrong word here. Hoping never fixes anything.
the next two election cycles will tell the tale. I am working to get things turned around by electing the conservatives to seats in the house and senate (note the lower case, current they don't deserve the respect of the upper case letters). I will work for a conservative as the next president. If not conservative then Republican. If that fails then I fear you are correct.

I am not as optimistic as you. I think we will need to turn it around forcefully, if at all. I feel we are galloping and well down the road. I wonder if 1984 is still required school reading? Well, I went to school on a dinosaur, so what do I know about now. Thank-you for your positive comments.
