As if the economy will matter in 2016

While Larry Elder is spot on, I just don't see the blacks even realizing the chains they have allowed Democrats to bind them with. And with all the racial demagoguery going on, I fear that their eyes aren't going to open any time soon.

I wonder if 50 years from now the Obama regime will be considered a turning point or an anomaly.

I agree there is some stereotyping going on, but if one looks at the voting exit polls, it is still quite apparent that the stereotypes won't die until either the population does or there is some massive shift in culture.

I would also posit that one of the reasons Obama got the vote is because he was a "new thing" - and millennials (with their five-second attention spans) wanted something new. A lot of other people also did, and instead got more RINO Republicans.

Yes he is, hence "borderline." Attributing one thing only to an entire group is rather simplistic, however. For example: Jews have a history of liberalism/socialism going back a couple hundred years. They pass it on by example. Blacks vote for Obama for gimmies, but also because he's black. Whatever your heritage is, is what you tend to vote for if it is emotions guiding your thinking. Hispanics also vote because the Dems court the hell out of them and the left never did, to the point where in certain exceptions they are lost to the right. Rubio an example of the exceptions.

He's actually right, however. For some unknown reason that defies logic and blindly ignores the last 60 years, blacks vote Democrat overwhelmingly. Detroit is the prime example - it used to be one of the largest cities in American with 1.8 million people. Because of Democrat policies, the city is now only about a half million, much of the city lies waste, and was forced to declare bankruptcy.

    Watchit!
You are being (not so) borderline racist. If you don't think so, we have an entirely different conversation to undertake.

From what I've seen, blacks and Hispanics vote for democrats because of gimmes, and Jews vote for democrats because of abortion. Those are the litmus tests for the 3 groups. It doesn't matter what you stand for on anything else.

I believe the root cause to all of this decline is because this President has caused more hatred between the races. It seems to me that even more successful blacks are being called vile names such as "Uncle Tom's" than ever before.
Obama has increased the divide of races in America and it saddens me!!!

The Shadows are still ruling....nothing will matter till Christ returns. It is our responsibility to seek God and live to His Glory...anything else is just chance.

Detroit doesn't see how they've brought on their own problems, why would Baltimore? They aren't looking for the "proof" in the pudding, they are looking for someone else to blame.
The white Commissioner is only a temporary assignment until she can fill it permanently....so don't go thinkin' they're catchin' on to reality.

I wish it were true, but I don't think it is. Like the Irish conflict, the race cold-war will only end when nobody on either side wants to fight it any more. For now there are still tax-funded goodies to be grabbed.

DrZarkov (love your name) , it's already here. Both my children have come home to join my husbands and my practices, and they each have been looking for a house to rent. What we have learned is that the federal government is paying large rent subsidies to move poor people into middle class neighborhoods. So moochers are moving in to the best neighborhoods, never pay their small portion of the rent (but it takes 6 months to a year for the landlord to be able to kick them out because of federal housing regulations), and trash the house.
The result is that houses available for rent are filthy; actually like a slum.
At the same time the federal subsidies have driven up prices for any potential renter. It's a mess. There are no decent, safe neighborhoods anymore, and renting costs more than it should.
So don't think it's coming, hon, it's here!

the problem is, IMHO, reality is so obscured these days that finding it
is a challenge ... until the bank sends you a foreclosure notice,,,
and then, clouds of perception mess up the picture -- it could
really be Congress's fault and not yours!!! -- j

For many decades the Republicans were the party of the former slaves and their descendents- over a thirty year period they let that slip and the Democrats took over even though they were pro-slavery, anti-civil rights themselves. Democrats didn't try to change their stripes until Clinton declared them the party of the people and Mississippi didn't abolish slavery until the late nineties or early 2000's. i can't imagine why any black would belong to either the republican or democrat half of the government party. the same goes for members of the Jewish Culture. goes to show how little difference between the Government parties left and right wing and how much of it is sitting over there on the left.

And this is why there are so few Objectivists. That first dose of reality is pretty hard to swallow.

Unfortunately the basic black population does not read Elder or Williams to possibly understand how the government in general is screwing them and of course 0 does not give a damn. By the same token they steadfastly refuse to make any effort to even consider giving up their welfare checks which just keep growing. So the economy makes no difference to the welfare recipients black, white or any other color!!

I think the wheels will really come off the wagon if Obama's latest "social justice" maneuver comes to pass. The idea of forcibly integrating well to-do neighborhoods by making realtors sell higher value home properties to low income families will inevitably impact wealthy Democrat supporters. There's already a protest movement starting in Hillary's New York neighborhood, demanding she come out against the effort.

Won't it be lovely when the neighbor's kid starts selling crack, and drug gang shootings start happening in the gated communities? Like they say, be careful what you ask for . . .

If Clinton was a Black President, then Obama must be a white President. It has come down to that being a Democrat and supporting Democrat politicians has nothing to do with reason or logic. Are Blacks better off under Obama? Are Jews better off under Obama? Are Hispanics better off under Obama? The answer is a resounding NO! And yet, if he were to run again they'd vote for him. Still, many Republicans tell one another that they should court these people for their votes. Court them with what? Logic? Facts and figures? History? Apparently none of that matters. The Democrats have done such a good job of demonizing anyone on the right, that trying to win their votes is a lesson in futility. Ann Coulter has it right when she says to cater to the conservative base. If they come out in droves (they are the majority still) you'll have a winner. Elder may be right but he'll never convince his fellow Blacks.

I have observed a surprising lack of limits for people to continue to believe what they want to believe. There is always hope that the reality of being without a job (because the minimum wage was hiked to $15/hr) with your family crowded into a marginal apartment will wake some percentage of the population up.

Sad part is 100% proof White Republicans are not to blame is Baltimore, MD.

50 Years of Democrats, and a LONG time of Black Democrats running the place and look what you have. A third world city in an industrialized country.

Hell the Black Mayor fired her Black Police Commissioner and replaced him with a white guy.

I am thinking the message is look who can and who cannot do the job. Not sure that was a good message for a black mayor to send.

Nothing is bo's faults...whites are to blame for all of their problems. Like mamaemma said...perception is everything, reality need not apply.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that, for most people it's all about perception. Reality has nothing to do with it.
