I am a concealed carry permit holder in my state and I carry a sig p238 an a daily basis. What are the thoughts in the gulch on this topic and if you carry what do you carry?
Rio Salado range is East Valley. That's best for rifle. I usually go to the desert for hand gun use. I like Sugarloaf. It's on the beeline a little east of Ft McDowell
I wish South Carolina was open carry, but we aren't....yet. I have a Concealed Permit and usually carry my Sig Sauer P238. (The guy who sold it to me said it's like a miniature 1911, it really is, I love it.) I usually keep in my car since I can't have it at work (drat). I also own a Ruger .38 revolver, which is a little bulky for concealed carry so it stays within reach at home.
I love this subject! Here in Az. we have open carry and conceal carry. I have my permit so I conceal carry a KelTec P32 and backup Bond Texas Ranger in 9mm barrel or swap to a .410 barrel. I'm looking at Western style Revolver to add to my collection also. I go to an indoor range about 15min. from my house. I would really like to go to an outdoor range but that's in Phoenix @ 2hrs away. I will try going in the fall because right now it's too damn hot and the bullet would melt before it hit the target(just kidding)!
I love the trigger pull on my Taurus PT145 and 24/7 OSS tactical 45.
When chambered and de-cocked, it is about a 7 lb long pull. no accidental misfire there. Full double action, feels like an old style colt 45 revolver, Once that first round goes off though you have a crazy short rapid hair trigger, great for super fast firing, or full release and a long almost no resistance pull.
Probably the best all around pistols I have ever fired. But then again that is my preference...
When I'm not in a situation where I can carry a gun, I bring my cane. I don't need one, but when you're over 70, you don't get any questions. The cane is the best legal everywhere self defense weapon, and mine is a special version that enhances the impact.
Recently saw a pen in .25ACP sold on an on-line gun auction. Very clever design. It went for several hundred $'s - way overpriced, but an interesting piece!
I carry Glock. Usually a G42, or a G36, or my G27 or a G23 but rarely will I carry my G17 but when I get my G43 I will let in enter into the carry plan. Yes I carry concealed but I can carry open in my State. I also have my Utah CCW.
I flat honestly DESPISED that mushy-gooshy trigger pull sensation; between that and the "Stab-your-index-finger" safety (sure it works, but Gaston should have done much, much better)...
What changed me was replacing the trigger system (from that awful stock mushbucket to a 3# Ghost Trigger kit) and then giving it a "Simichrome trigger job" to where it was an honest and consistent 3# trigger.
I have plans to redesign that damnable digit-dart safety tab (for me, it induces an annoying "sting" at about 250-300 rounds, cutting my practice sessions prematurely) - I have a prototype idea, but haven't fitted it yet (once I get some "my stuff" time), but I kid you not, that little bit of work and $$ so far absolutely, positively changed that wishy-washy action to a normal feeling trigger pull, and changed me from "I wouldn't have one if someone gave it to me" to "Damn, this thing is fun to shoot!"
The Second Amendment IS your carry permit, and given how dangerous and violent our society has become, you'd be wise to exercise your right to keep and bear arms. Every day we hear or read about some violent criminal or illegal alien harming someone...don't think it can't happen to you.
We are seeing a resurgence of firearms ownership and defensive carrying. Many are new to the concept or have little experience. Especially with regard to the legal issues. I think that freely giving advice that can result in more educated and experienced defensive weapons owners and carriers is beneficial to all. The important thing is to say the facts and keep the stupid and childish bravado away from the public record.
The law does not require any warnings. There have been cases of crimes prevented by either warning shots or even drawing of a defensive weapon. The victims were arrested and prosecuted. May not necessarily get convicted, but my view is that I would rather have a dead criminal than spendi tens of thousands and probably ruin my life defending myself from the criminal government.
Wheel guns go bang every time, you can pound nails, drop it in the mud and Ruger SA wheelguns still go bang every time. If I`m betting my life, those are the cards I want.
If a human marries a deer and I shoot it, while hunting...am I guilty of murder???
Hmmm.

You need good gun control though. By "gun control" I mean hitting what your aiming at.
Hammer less so it will not get hung up on something coming out of holster or pocket
Weighs 11.4 oz empty
shoots either 357 magnum, 38+P, or 38 special
Downside - the trigger pull is a bit hard as this is double action only.
jimjamesjames mentioned polygamy, and I used some humor to extend it to the logical conclusion of where the Overton Window will be moved to.
