Bob Beckel, Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera, James Carville, Colmes, Richard Fowler, Tamara Holder, Sally Kohn, Kirsten Powers, Dennis Kucinich, Lanny Davis, are all great contributors to FOX News. They actually help me understand why I’m really on the right side of politics from them. They usually have no real facts, some say the stupidest things, some just raise their eyebrows, some just raise their voice and try to filibuster the conversation. Kirsten Powers seems now to be one that might be starting to see some light. Her new book will rise her up on the right, and demean her and they will try to destroy her on the left. The most repulsive, in my opinion, are Richard Fowler, and I hate to make stupid implications to describe someone like the left typically does, but I cannot remember his name, or even find an image of him on the internet without his name, he’s the one that looks like an albino, white hair, and really creepy weird eyes. The two of them just make my skin crawl when they come on. Both try to bolster the conversation by talking over their host and getting louder to drown anyone else out. No matter what is said they are always 100% on the other side. You can just see the wheels turning in their head when they have to listen to someone else speak. Whatever happened to Tripping Joe Trippi? Oh, I just remembered the name, Ellis Henican, he’s the albino with the big mouth. Just looking at his demeanor makes me feel like he’s just a real nasty person. I now get the same impression just looking at Hillary. President Obama doesn’t strike me as nasty at all, just inexperienced and totally arrogant.

I think FOX has really got it all together. Sure there is a lot of reinforcement of what I believe, but most of the reinforcement actually comes from the liberals that FOX puts on the air. Without them, what would I have to measure against. What other news media can say they present both sides, or even allow a dissenting view to be expressed? How many conservatives that have actually been on any liberal news station can anyone name? I’d venture to say not even one tenth of those that Fair and Balanced FOX has. If Kirsten’s book is read by the other side, FOX’s audience share will again go up, which could result in some more conversions.

One move I would love FOX to make is to hire Sharyl Attkisson. She has proven her integrity in reporting, but I’d bet that even FOX is probably not her ultimate desire. Perhaps FOX could trade Hannity for her. I can’t even watch him anymore, his show is getting boring, filled mostly with points counted on his fingers and just a bunch of the same old rhetoric on the right. His show is almost like the opposite of any show on the left stations. He is not advancing the right, just enhancing the frustration. Or perhaps Greta could be traded, her babbling is starting to get to me too. The other day she asked where the two escapes got their food. My immediate reaction was “Who cares, maybe they went into a market and stole some. Now, Megyn Kelly, her show I find enlightening, and lightening when she smiles and you can see that “I can’t believe it” in her expression. You can make up your own mind watching her show, she doesn’t have to tell you how to feel. I can actually watch it and go away feeling okay.

Due to my feelings, I weening myself off of FOX. I only partially watch about an hour a day, if that anymore. I’ve got a democrat’s view about politics now, I know everything I need to know, there is nothing that can make me see anything differently, and nothing can change my mind in any way, period. So why waste the little time I have left on observing it. I’m going to go out and get a fishing license today. It should be free at my age, but WA is a democratic state so I’ll just have to buy it. I guess I’ll have to get the permit to park my Corvette on the land at the river where I want to fish. I wonder if there is some sort of fish transport license I might need to transport a fish home. Maybe I’ll read the regulations before I get a fishing license. I’ve already got “The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass”, mine is a “Seniors Pass”. And I already have the “Washington State Parks and Recreational Commission - Disabled Veterans Lifetime Pass”. I sure hope it doesn’t expire before I catch some fish.

The scary thing is "Juan Williams and Geraldo Rivera will be on in a rotating basis" which is like canned and tuna showing up, I thought Juan may have woke up after the debacle at PBS but he apparently thinks that the "throw them under the bus" philosophy the liberal media seems to use was just a fluke. As far as Hannity goes, he has been turned off my box for the last 3 or 4 years, his screaming "right is right" no matter what is annoying. Sometimes there is a glimmer of logic and truth, but rarely. O'Rielly at least seems to have some sense of right and wrong, and also seems to actually understand the looting government idea. Although I bet it is because he gets looted a lot. I do agree with you that Megyn seems the most level headed fact oriented one they have, But overall I find Fox is as slanted and concerned with only their own special interests vs the Communist News Network. Not a huge difference in find what is real. Although they do keep raising the red flag on Hillary, which can only be described as a good thing. Be careful with the fish thing, all those possibilites are valid, and I am sure you will run afoul of someone wanting you to pay the Fish Transfer Tax, and the Fish Conservation Fee, and support the Bait Renewal Act (worms can get a tax credit if the wiggle enough).

Your fishing comments gave me the smiles, then I got the giggles. I haven't giggled in about 50 years. Thanks!!! What I wrote is mostly true, at least about the passes, and I never even thought about any worm or bait taxes. I used to like to fly fish on the Bitterroot River that runs through Hamilton, Montana. I used to go there on business and of course I always took along my fly fishing gear in season. I never went out of season either.

Glad I could use my sarcastic wit to entertain you Neal, you promted that train of thought with your last paragraph, and then I wandered into thinking how that would have made a good little snippit in AS, where Dagny and Reardon are fishing in that little remote area they went to, and then some camo dude skulks out of the grass and lays a whole boatload of fines on them, and confiscates their gear "for the good of the people" to protect some fish that Wesley Mouch may have sold to some cannery or something.

I liked the old curmudgeon. I think Fox has made a big mistake. I can only think of one time I agreed with him, but at least he was sincere and not phony.

Seems like we are dumping a devil we know for other stand ins we don't know! Juan Williams and Geraldo Rivera are no bargains either. I did hear Rosy O'Donnell might need a new gig pretty soon and she would give me a great reason to shoot my TV!

I have just one problem: I think someone at Fox seized upon his health problems as an excuse to throw him out--after he repeatedly said Muslims are up to no good, and would not stop calling Muslims out on failure to condemn terrorism.

An employer does not normally take a reverse-Parthian shot at someone. "He took advantage of our generosity and our empathy, and we reached the end of the road" is not the smart way to part company. Do you not rather say, "We determined that his health issues were irreparable and were such to prevent his returning to the grueling schedule of a regular television show; we wish him well in his future endeavors"? That's the way it's done. This "Bad speed to you! sendoff is just. Not. Done.

    Something's missing here.

And it stinks. And the stink is of political correctness so small I can smell the White House restroom from here.

Indeed, I agree with you. His observations on ISIS were something you had to do a double take on. After watching Fox for years I came to the belief it is a much propaganda as any other "network" It seems they are all set to just pit the masses at each other, while the real work of Empire goes on behind the scenes. For all the reports on a lot of news programs of the things done in the last 20 years, none of the political criminals have gone to jail, just prospered more. The fact Hillary and Pelosi are still not in custody is pretty definitive...

Yes! . "Look at this shiny thing over here," while they
redefine pollution over there. . and then, your mom-and-pop

Indeed, I have seen the same thing locally, as well as a 4 year running battle with the State Of Oregon ag dept, who allowed a moron next to me to gather 250 alpacas on 3 acres and never pick up any manure, by the end it was so bad they killed 80 or so from disease and starvation. I am still chasing him for the 138K judgement. Cost me as much to do it. They will kill off a small farm and then levy a pittance against a large one and never touch a corporate one for the exact same things.

sounds like an infuriating situation! . that's a whole
lot of animals for 3 acres. . and the cost for legal action
                is also infuriating. . aaaaarrrrrrrggghhhh!!! -- j

Indeed, the old man was a career criminal too. No credit so he bought the property on an owner contract and proceeded to destroy it. It took 3 years to get the state and county to finally admit killing off your animals is actually a bad thing. He is in jail now doing 3 years for criminal animal abuse, and that is only because he basically flipped them all off and just said "there was no problem". It was just a complete mess from one end to the other but made me committed to the fact the system is completely broke.

my first wife and I hauled 51 lambs back to knoxville
from the Marshalls of michigan farm west of detroit,
all gathered in the back of an 8-foot-bed chevrolet
pickup with a camper cover, in about 1977. . they
had to stand on their feet, the whole way. . when
we stopped moving, for gas or a restroom, one
opened the camper's rear window and fanned the
air in, for them, while the other did gas, etc. . the
marathon drive lasted about 10 hours.

they all survived and did well. . 4H kids loved them
                    and showed them quite successfully.

but that pickup was like 250 alpacas on 3 acres. -- j

probably right -- he was getting regular "correction"

Speaking of shrugs,Bob Beckel made a shrug I'll never forget when another of The Five asked him about the national debt. Bob wasn't at all worried about it.
That was a couple of years ago but I kinda recall that prompting me to pick up my remote and start channel surfing.
I usually do not look at TV at that hour unless I'm eating a grapefruit or something.
Oh, by the way, here is what libtards like Bob do not worry about--

I had to stop and think a minute. Oh yes! I remember from back in the days when I had TV. Life has been so much better for the last near two decades. Same goes for radio and newspapers. What need? Or am I thinking of Becket?

How one could staunchly defend a lie, without question. Perhaps once a liberal decides 'Not to Be' they lose their subconscious voice!? I now understand why William S. posed that question...it goes way beyond the story.

Maybe now that fox isn't paying Bob to be "the liberal" he can think outside the liberal box and come over to "the dark side." Maybe now that he won't be being paid to spout stupid things he won't need to abuse mind altering substances to be able to live with himself. Best of success, Bob, in beating these two demons.

I may have disagreed w/ Bob's views almost all of the time, but he was good for The Five, and he made the show better than it would have been without his presence. Perhaps some of FOX News' foreign investors didn't appreciate his pov. I can only wish him well, and fast healing.
