How Could The Government Let This Happen?

Every wonder how things got the way they are. It's an underlying often unasked questioned in many post threads.

The Art of War by Sun Tsu five hundred BC. Not the whole book just the parts that pertain 2515 years later.

Preparation for war. Our side must have...

“Capability to subjugate eyes and ears...suppress their senses...suppress their judgement...make people unable to think...herd them as a flock of sheep” That's where the sheep analogy is derived.

Sound familiar? Guaranteed the political masters of the Government party have read Sun Tzu as closely as they read Marighella and the Cycle of Repression. All the while the ''could never happen here'' and ''how could the government let this happen.'' And returned to their TV sets and text messaging while ignoring their new social contract followed by the establishment of a Special Democracy and it's Protective Echelon.

It wasn't the Government that made it happen. It was the people who handed over their freedoms, turned a blind eye to corruption and gave up their freedoms for security and jobs. Until there were no more jobs no more security. Never once asking what became of our new social contract but whining about their rights?"

250 years ago another group of people looked into the future. I wonder what it will look like 25 months from now?

You get what you ask for.

Some thoughts as the day ends.

Leg of Lamb anyone?

As the last post suggested. The phrase is a hall mark identifier of a liberal mind set.

The opposite is what can I do myself to prevent this from coming true?

How could we let this happen? How could we allow ourselves and our country to sink to the place where we just assume that government is or should be the prime actor and that which is responsible?

Granted of course that government has been given so much power over so many things that it should never have been involved in at all that today the blame for a very great deal belongs quite rightly with government.

But still, we should be very careful of hidden premises.

I had a college Civics teacher that said; "People get the kind of Government they deserve".

It was an apt quote of a Roman Philosopher Boethius later executed by a Christian Ceaser. Dictators do not seize control. Freedoms are willingly handed to them by the citizens. I didn't quote mark it because it's not exactly accurate. The re-occurring themes are trading freedom for security and choosing the least of any number of evil choices in return.

I sadly admit that I do not think the human species has yet evolved the mental capacity to successfully handle the concept, or structure of having a government. Of course what else is there?

This is only very incompletely so. People are conditioned over time with false and dangerous premises and memes. Once government controls their education and training the demise of serious questioning and checking of what government wants to do is almost guaranteed. That schooling in turn was actually designed in all seriousness to teach the vast majority to simply obey and to be properly "socialized". It was designed to produce only 10% or less actual thinkers and those in narrow professions and the sciences.

In this environment it is virtually guaranteed that the majority of the people do not and cannot think coherently about the nature of government and what it should and should not be. Many of the rest are conditioned to instantly dismiss, denigrate and berate those that do question.

So the people have been very highly molded to put up with whatever the government is or becomes next.
