Ragnar Danneskjöld is returning from rough seas for Atlas Shrugged Part III: Who is John Galt?

Plus, with your help, he’ll be making an appearance in the Atlas Shrugged movie store as well. We KNOW Ragnar is deserving of some great gear; unfortunately, there isn’t a logo befitting a philosopher turned pirate. Not yet anyway.

The “Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?” production team invites you to design the logo for "Danneskjöld Collections" or "Danneskjöld Repossessions." Share your vision with us, and we’ll select the logo that best represents Ragnar and his mission. The winning Danneskjöld logo will be used in the Atlas Shrugged movie and on Atlas Shrugged movie merchandise. Plus, the winning design will receive $500.

For a full design brief and to submit your logo concept, please visit: http://99designs.com/logo-design/contest...

Submissions are due by Monday, January 13th.

GO.

Ragnar should have handed Hank a bar of gold in the 2nd movie, because he did in part 2 of the book.
Generally speaking, the movies so far have left out a LOT of good stuff, and I doubt very much that John Galt will speak for 3 hours in the third movie

Wow. I had no idea. We'll have to make sure the winning design gets $500 and just send them the difference. Thanks Matt.

    Good ol' USA.

After I posted the above, I went to the site and checked the amount while I was logged in as a designer and while I was logged out. It did indeed read as $499 when I was logged out and $300 when I was logged in. When it read $499, I hovered my mouse over the number at it read: "Silver design package. Purchased for $499 (including 99designs fees)." While logged in, I hovered my mouse over $300 and it said: "The winner will receive a $300 prize!" So, yeah, looks like 99designs takes a pretty hefty chunk.

    Hey Scott,
I was confused by this myself, as I was also sometimes seeing $499 and sometimes $300. I think when designers are logged in, we see $300. I think that $499 may have been the price of the package, but some of that includes 99designs.com's fees (although $200 seems like pretty steep fees for what the website brings to the table!). Not 100% sure that's what's going on, but that's the only thing I can figure, as I've also been seeing $300 every time I'm at the contest page.

Negative, the page clearly says: "Atlas Shrugged's Ragnar Danneskjöld Needs a Logo!
    $300

This page states that the winner receives $500, but the 99Designs page states that the winner receives $300. Why the discrepancy?

What an amazing challenge! To compete in this "Realm of Ragnar", I would have needed to have read a range of Rand's publications - to appreciate who R.D. really was. Mea Culpa! Alas, I am not worthy to compete, but I'm confidant that many of you are!

Curious, I asked Ms. Rand if she knew the meaning of the Scandinavian names she had used.
She did not, but they are very fitting; Ragnar =
Young Warrior. Dagny = New Day.

As many of you know, I can't draw worth a damn. All that went to Amanda. But try this on for size:

Crossed white cutlasses on a black field, letters "R" on each side at cross-over, with the gold "ATLAS" figure in the open center of the crossed cutlasses. R's are for 'Ragnar's Repossessions'.

    How about gold writing:

    A ≠ ~A
    Reality Fights Back!

    On a black field.

Ragnar was the true philosopher of the group.

Reminds me of a line from Roadhouse. The doctor is stitching up Patrick Swayze. Sees he has a college degree and is stunned that it is philosophy. She asks him if he loses much. He says something to the effect that the people who go looking for trouble usually are not much difficulty for people who are ready for them.

"When the police break the law, there is no law, only a fight for survival." --- Billy Jack

While definitely not a movie espousing AR's values, nonetheless it's always fun to watch him kick butt.
