Gun Control Law refused by County Sheriff

Josephine County Oregon. The local Sheriff refused to honor a State law wending it's was through their legislature requiring a check be made of all private sales of firearms. The law to be a misdemeanor offense. He stated I don't have enough officers to deal with felonies. Misdemeanors will have to wait.

My take on this is a simple four word sentence to the higher levels of government.

No Funding No Mandate.

There was no comment from the State Police who hold primary responsibility in any case.

Gun Control aside there is way too much passing the buck to the States and local levels of government when some congress or assembly decides to make brownie points and then act as if they had done something useful.

It's not about guns it's about citizen control and more to the point it's about funding in a cash strapped society tired of being looted and mooched out of existence.

It warms my heart to hear stories like this. I wish our local governments would do their job more often in protecting our rights and federalist system.
