Second reaction: "Well of course you have to force children and dogs to do things for their own good." And that is almost universally how liberals - even the least intrusive and best intentioned ones - see society. Children. Not too bright children who must be made to comply with rules that their betters construct.

The key is that it is not enough to a liberal that the law perfectly well allows them to behave in the manner they desire. What they long for is the ability to make everyone behave in that manner too.

I think Ms. Rand had the right solution to this problem. In a free society you are free to do what your conscious dictates. Then you will learn. If you are correct, you and you client will profit and both will continue on with that decision. If you are wrong, you will fail and profit with the new knowledge you aquired. The government stepping and forcing people to do anything just gives the government another way to destroy people that gets in it way either by criminalizing them or destroying their means of making profit.

Yep, it's called Democracy, but the more accurate would be calling it GOVERNment. Yet so many believe let's "Keep the Force, Baby!"

Of course, because the liberals never imagine themselves on the _receiving_ end of that force - only on the giving/dictating end.

First of all Christian theology specifically forbids homosexuality. Second, Christian theology does not endorse (and in fact specifically forbids) force.

She's a liberal through and through - that's all that one needs to know and all that matters.

That woman has more holes in her head than a Swiss cheese. Whenever "they' talk of using force, i:e: government coercion, they always fail to make the connection to the loss of individual freedom. Any law is justified because it is there for your own good. Sort of like governmental cod liver oil.

Does the woman not understand that advocating initiating the use of force sanctions the use of force against her? I think not. She can't conceive that, when it comes to the use of force, she will be subject to it, also.

I think there are some blast holes in the foundation, with other charges set and ready for detonation... We are being sold such a bill of goods, without the right of refusal. Things I enjoyed without ever having a consequence for, like cracking a joke, could have me labeled a racist. I'm tired of being told how to live because somehow someone is too weak and thin skinned to manage their life without constant stroking and coddling. Ugh!! I'm not getting this across quite how I'd like. I'm distracted at the service dept by a lady's dog, (!), who is snorting and gagging and generally being gross. Trying not to draw its attention... And I love dogs! This one....
