Third book Pending

I'm about finished with my third novel (the first part anyway). It is a complete departure from my previous books, Shadows Live Under Seashells and Fallacies of Vision. It is more science fiction and less philosophical. At this point, for copyright reasons, I can't share its name or much of the plot. Once I have my copyright, unless I'm told otherwise by this site, I intend to post an excerpt of the first chapter or so here on the Gulch to collect opinions and to test the interest of the concept (which may be hard to glean after a small sampling).

    Hello AJAshinoff,
I do hope this one will be available on paper like Shadows...
I have tried, but I just can't get the same feel or convenience from e-books.
    Please keep us updated.
    Regards,
    O.A. .

It takes a little time for me to bring books to paper since editing is always a primary concern and I don't want to cement in grammatical errors. I paid good money for Shadows Live Under Seashells to be edited only to have have it re-edited 3 more times (once at an additional expense) before I was confident that the mistakes were taken care of. I should have paid far more attention throughout junior high school and high school. sigh, hindsight. I do intend to have this next novel in paperback as well as its second part.

After that I intend to complete the second installment of Shadows Live Under Seashells.

Thanks! This novel is an ambitious undertaking, like Shadows Live Under Seashells it will bring in a lot of emerging technologies to create a futuristic story that stretched 20 million years into the past and 1000 years into the future. It a hell of a risk to attempt something remotely similar to Asimov in scale and I'm putting quite a bit on my ability to deliver and deliver well.

I look forward to input from this community.

I didn't find SLUS to be overly philosophical.

Regarding a printer for paper books, I've had very good results with Ingram.

I use CreateSpace through Amazon because of the onDemand capability. I do occasionally buy a few dozen books to sign and sell at events or on-line. Does Ingram provide such services?

Yes. My wife has a very small book. It costs around $2.20/book to print, depending on qty. You tell them the price and the percentage of it the bookseller gets. You have to set the percentage high so that the book seller can discount it and still make a profit. We have it set up so the list price $13, stores sell it for $10, and we get something like $4 for every sale, sent to us quarterly, without our doing anything. I remember it being somewhat difficult to set up, but the system works now. We can sell them ourselves and make more profit or direct people to major book sellers. I think the on-demand printing happens behind the scenes.
