Good points. I actually think this about some of my "friends" who have no idea WHAT they vote for. Just because they don't realize it, and won't think about any of it long enough to question anything or seek answers, doesn't mean they didn't just vote for evil itself...which makes them the supporter of evil, and evil themselves. Not following the results of your actions to their logical conclusion, or being complacent, or willfully ignorant, or basing all of your decisions on emotions.....all end with an evil result...BUT THEY DON'T RECOGNIZE IT.

You are more generous with progressives than I. Too often they are evil in their treatment of any with an opposing doctrine. Their support of some is often a temporary divide and conquer tactic in class, religious or economic warfare. They will finish those people they reluctantly support later, after they attain their goals. One has only to read communist training manuals to see from whence their ideas come.A large percentage of Congress is now socialist by membership. Religion, of any type, except the worship of state, is a fly to be swatted in their end game. They do not want fairness for all, but only for their select supporters.

I don't think progressives can wrap their heads around evil....they think everything should be fair and surely islam is the religion of peace. arg

Thank you for the link to the debate on Islam, quite informative. Actually, my daughter read "Infidel" a couple years ago, and brought it to me to read. It supported the picture I had after college classes with Muslim males (their own women were not allowed). I might add, that those males were quite free to shack up with US women students and did, while women in their country would have been punished for such action.
I wonder about the Progressives vs Islamic situation, recognizing that neither group promotes Christianity. Progressive one-worlders are busy homogenizing Christian religion, with a transition to UN Gaia worship as the expected stepping stone to worship of government. Now, I do not see Islam going down that path as are Christian churches blindly doing. At some point there is going to be a major parting of the ways. While Progressives presently advocate Sharia Law in some areas of the US, it is not part of their end game plan. I see some major trouble brewing before it is over.

To be franc, I think I like FoV a smidgen more than Shadows. It's short stories that follow current gov policy to their logical conclusions if not stopped. But since it's only on Kindle I have no chance (at this point) to get a signed copy...which would, of course, include my name.

Is there a category on this site for authors who are members of the site? I know that khalling wrote Pendulum of Justice. I just read it last week and think it is a great novel. I also know somebody else (can't remember screen name) wrote The Golden Pinnacle. I'm maybe 150 pages through that 750+ page book and enjoying it immensely. I only learned about these books through chance comments that I saw posted in threads I was reading on this site. It makes me wonder how many other authors might be on this site and how I can find out about there books.

Khalling, thanks, I will keep my eyes open. I like to know about their ideas, but would find living under them intolerable. No way would I put headgear on and be subservient, nor would I give up driving my Camaro! I once took classes with Saudi men, as the only female in the group, I got strange looks from them. I used to give a couple of them rides after class when we were going the same direction. We could talk got along fine, and discussed our differences in beliefs, from religion to law. I just knew, I would never want to live in a country where their ideas prevailed, however. I am still trying to reconcile where Islamic ideas fit in with the end goal of one world socialists. Somehow, I expect the two do not intend to co-exist in that supposed utopia, yet no one seems to address it.

I read religiously. Often time 2-3 hours a day. I read so much and so often my wife gets jealous of my kindle/books. She claims its a form of escapism. LOL?

If anything, it gives you a much better understanding of your opponent and what they think, which is essential in any conflict.

Absolutely right, do not stay in the box!
I read Mao's Little Red Book multiple times, Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals", and "Brainwashing in Red China", not because I agree with them, but to see what Rand must have known about communism o understanding where we were headed. Mao read about George Washington, whom he admired as a military man. The Chinese presently read Mahan's "The Importance of Sea Power on History", and heed the advice, which our leaders are not doing.
I had to read Marilyn Manson's autobiography, to learn his songs were influenced by Nietzsche, to show my then teen daughter, he was not independently brilliant, but was using the philosopher's ideas. She turned to philosophy instead.

It is particularly effective, I believe, when people read things that are not predigested amalgams of already well-understood concepts.

Go read something that contradicts what you think, regardless of what that is.

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

I substitute TV time for reading. The things I enjoy watching (science oriented, sci-fi, history) tend to empty rooms so I wait until later at night if I watch any TV at all. I don't care for my wife's monotonous romantic comedies or chick flicks so I read my books. On Goodreads I set a 30 book goal at the beginning of the year, I'm up to 55 books (a writer can fine tune his craft by recognizing other writers strengths and weaknesses).
