I really love my state but I really hate this. All I can hear is the sucking sound. I just cannot stand the smug looters who live above the law of the land.

I would like the Gov. to come after me for what I write, or whatever. I can see it now: "Feds Harass 80 Year Old Disabled Man." By the time I was through there wouldn't be a dry eye in most of America. Oooh, the pain! That's why they pick on guys who have the most to lose and try to destroy them. Now that BHO has armed most of the federal agencies, the only thing left is to promote enough civil unrest to call out the National Guard and declare Martial Law.

More already has been unearthed in both Iraq and Syria. I knew so from an inside source back at the time, but a news story just came out this past week on this subject.

In the US, if you have a car, it must be registered with a government entity, if you use a cell phone, your location is being monitored by the signal provider, which can be requested by the gov't, in most localities, if you want to exercise your 2nd amendment rights, you need to inform the gov't in one way or another. In order to go Galt in the US, you would truly need to reject modernity.

Probably true. It's that the guy is such a buffoon, but maybe a buffoon is better than a clown, which is better than a snake, which is better than a weasel. You can assign the description to the proper person.

I hope he will, once we have a Republican president. He needs to go to prison, and so do a bunch of his cronies, especially Holder.

Both parties did that to us, too. This is why I won't support "mainstream" Republicans. A Republican who was governor and didn't cut his state's budget is not worth voting for.

About all I've heard of Jesse Ventura's policies was his welfare reform, which seemed like an improvement. I'd rather have had him as gov than Schwarzenegger.

Every time you uncover same, you need to express the fallacy to the venue that it is being shown - usually newspapers.

I can't really see the problem. Gruber's models produced projections with about the same accuracy that all of those global warming models have accomplished. The fact that your projections diverge radically from reality only becomes a problem if anyone is actually paying attention.
Darn it. I forgot to turn on my sarcasm font.

Apparently someone missed David Axelrod's recent interview. He stated how proud he was of this administration, that they had had no scandals in the six years of their term so far. His statement actually took my breath away, now I'm dependent on an inhaler.

Today I thanked myself for going and fighting when my country asked me to. A friend on Medicare is spending a small fortune out of his pocket for his inhalers. Mine only cost me a copay of $8 for 30 days supply thru the VA. He did not serve in the military. I'm feeling almost as entitled as our representatives in the government that have similar plans.

Perhaps so. It was pretty easy for me to fall off the grid. Or, so I thought. Being retired and most everything I own paid for, I thought that I was pretty much anonymous. No such thing. The GOV. knows everything about me, from my bottom line to my daily movements. (Not those kind, although I wouldn't be surprised.) I'm not sure if you could "go Galt" now. You'd almost need to hide under a rock.

A subpoena from another state. They have no power to enforce it so what's her incentive to comply? If she returns to MN the court can order her to be arrested but until then they're SOL.

I'll ignore the obvious, the criminals who are now refusing to cooperate, because others said enough. (What's their incentive to cooperate, anyway?)

What stuck out to me was, "approved $329,000 of invoices he submitted, all of which failed to provide the level of billing detail called for in his contract."

Former MN employee April T-M failed in her fiduciary duty by paying invoices that were incomplete. Both she and Gruber can be sued and Gruber can be ordered by the court to provide acceptable invoices or return the money. What he can't be sued for is being wrong, and I guarantee that his contract states that clearly even though it wouldn't matter if it didn't.

This kind of thing is rampant in state and federal government. Vendors get paid regardless of whether or not they've met their contractual obligations.

I'll have to sheepishly admit that I'm a state employee. One of the departments that my app development group supports is responsible for paying the telecommunications invoices for the entire state, well over $1,000,000 per month.

The manager of that department had us write code to see if we were being billed correctly. The answer was NO and he pursued them like a pit bull to recover the money going back about three years - millions of dollars in total. After the initial recovery he contracted with a company that specializes in that, and they work commission only so they have a huge incentive to find errors and recover incorrect payments.

The wireless vendors are also obligated to provide us, electronically, with detailed billing data so we could reconcile the invoices with our usage. They change the format and content of the data they sent so often that the two guys who maintained our software were flat out keeping up with data import issues.

Sometimes their changes would leave out info they were required to send and we took a hard line and stopped paying them until they complied. It was amusing to watch them drag their feet until their unpaid receivable was over a million, then suddenly they were in a rush to fix it.

Frontier took over the AT&T business a few months ago. It was a nightmare for almost everyone. They haven't even come close to meeting our data requirements and haven't received a single dollar yet.

It's refreshing to find a government agency that won't pay an invoice until the contract terms are met. If they all did that we'd still have a big, fat mess but at least it would be a slightly smaller one.

OK let's be fair.. "The Body" was put into office when I was still in middle school.. too young to vote so I'm not taking the blame on that one lol! But seriously, MN is just a smaller example of what is going on nationwide. The voters seem to have taken one too many blows to the head on the fake wrestling circuit just like Jesse. We have our share of loons, and I'm not talking about the birds. The corruption has grown to Tammany Hall levels nationwide again. Going Galt seems to be the only option left at this point.
