I'm searching for a specific piece of guitar sheet music and I'm having no luck finding it. I'm posting about it here as a last resort in the hope that someone my either have this music or the knowledge of where it can be found. I'm searching for the specific song OR a collection from the band that contains the actual sheet music (not solely Tabs). This is for my son.

Hot Tuna (60s folk-rock/blues-rock band)

The song I'm looking for is "Water Song"

I'm not asking for anything for free and will gladly pay a reasonable amount for the sheet music or a song book containing the sheet music.

My son has decyphered a fair amount of it via listening and trial and error. I'd like to help him improve that.

Here's the song: http://youtu.be/6giiYDlqRQs

I wouldn't say he's fluent but he can sight read on the fly. Yeah, I'm impressed by his ability even if he's not.

The fact he can read music is a really good thing. I have been surprised at the number of people in gigging bands that can't, and most can't even read tabs.

I just dropped an email to Mr. Kaukonen's agent asking if sheet music was available. Of course my son prefers sheet music to instruction DVD or on-line recordings. Kids...PITA. :) j/k

It can be really hard to find a lot of songs. Sometimes you just have yo watch close to a performance video and hope they are in standard tuning.

I'm pretty surprised that its been so difficult to find sheet music on this band. They had a high-water mark and have endured with a solid following for many years since. He's watched an instruction video for the song by Jorma Kaukonen but he'd prefer the sheet music over video. I'm thinking, perhaps, Kaukonen prefers video to knuckling out pages of music.

    Thanks!

I've run across this before on-line but have never actually looked close enough at it to know if its accurate. We've picked up books for other artists (Led Zeppelin) only to find the notation incomplete or truncated. Now that I've found it on Amazon I can see that its a DVD for a concert the band put on in 1995 and not sheet music. Bah!! Back to square one.

    Thank you though.
