The purpose of Aca was to give govt the complete power over our health care. Had nothing to do with serving customers. The was they sold it was to expand Medicaid (free care) and to allow insurance companies to jack up the rates by allowing for subsidies taxpayers pay. It should be flat out repealed

Of course they knew. Anyone with an I.Q. over 50 could figure it out without reading the whole thing. Just one item could tell the whole story: No exclusions for prior conditions. There are many more such items, any one of which would balloon the costs.

now that it has been exposed as a detriment to the health care system that we had and both groups who walk the halls of congress supposedly know this they should repeal it in its entirety, but will the do that noooooooo. why not, because they do not want to embarrass the current white house occupant. he needs this piece of s___ legislation on his resume as the primary reason to show he did more damage to the usa than all prior occupants ever since washington.

In a just world, the deceitful enablers of this fraud on America would be locked up in their offices where they could hear the hammering as scaffolds were assembled outside. In this one, they are unpunished and rewarded. There should be a million angry citizens surrounding the Capitol and the White House with torches and pitchforks demanding that the criminals come out and face justice.

I could have told them that the moment they sent out their first briefing papers. Anyone who read AS could have told them that. Didn't Thomas Hendrix, M.D., former Chairman of Neurosurgery at The Johns Hopkins (the most likely teaching hospital), specifically tell that to Dagny Taggart at that famous dinner meeting at Midas' house? "Let them see, in their operating rooms and so forth, how safe it is..."

Maybe, but as I remember it, she held congress in session right before Christmas and said they were not going home until they passed it. Forcing such a vote and holding hostages for something she knew was BS is criminal, and yet, no one has ever challenged it. That is why I do not trust any major political party anymore, they do not represent their members, just their special interests. Its also why I loved AS, and was amazed when I found out when it was written. I thought AR was a prophet to call it so accurately.

Not just Pelosi, the entire administration and Congress. It was so obviously a lie from the outset. The ACA was always intended to fail and make everybody ready to accept government run and paid healthcare. That's what it's really all about.

I can live with this. I am absolutely dead tired of others who lie, cheat and steal, and call it "politics". It's racketeering, plain and simple. What Pelosi did was criminal, and all the clowns who never read it (which I think covered 99% or more of them) should have been removed for dereliction of duty. I know some were ousted, but a lot of the big players managed to stay on the field.

Agreed, the real killer is it was a lie from the get go, and no one has ever been held accountable. Pelosi should have gone to jail for it.

Keep being mean, it's the only way to maybe, someday, force some common sense on the insane "silent majority" that seem to go along with all the crazy crap these clowns think up. And I include both parties in the "crazy clowns", I'm not picky.

Everything I warned people about is coming true. They will not get free care. They will not be able to find doctors to accept their plan. Prices for healthcare will spike... blah blah blah. Of course, according to my friends who lean left, it isn't that the plan was wrong, based on a lie and unsustainable. The problem is mean people like me are getting in the way by pointing out that math exists.

The ACA was never about 'affordability' or increased coverage. It' always been about moving into a single payer (government) system and grabbing up a large percentage of the economy.

That's the whole point. Yes. The subsidy is a tax credit. If you received one then it will be part of your income tax calcs this year. If you made more money than you estimated, you will owe the proportional part of the subsidy back to the IRS.

But if you did, and received a subsidy that was in excess of what you should have received, can they claw it back? That I don't know.

Well, R-believer people thought it was happening in Clinton's second term, too. I had hope then but it was just republican propaganda. This time is no different imo. There are no real penalties to force con-gressmen to follow their oaths. Until there are severe penalties nothing good will happen. (Not being elected isn't a big penalty. They get nice retirement package and come back as corporate lobbyists with fat salaries.)

I wonder if they can get that money back. I'm no tax lawyer, so not sure of the exact aspects of the law, but I understand that if you didn't sign up for a plan, and you don't have a refund coming, there is no provision to get the "fine." Not sure if the same is true for getting reimbursed an excess.

That is essentially happening. Look how many have lost elections or conveniently have "retired."

Ours is not supposed to be a fast system. In fact, it was intentionally set up to be slow so as to limit things like the ACA. The fact that the "constitutional lecturer" does not understand this and offers to do what congress won't independent of them just goes to show that he never really did understand the constitution.

Everyone in congress who voted for the bill should be ousted and special elections setup. They have the responsibility to know what is in each bill they sign in order to fulfill the oath of office. They should not be able to hide behind ignorance.
It is long past time to enforce the oath of office to obey the constitution, and to put in place severe penalties for ignoring it.
Define it as treason with execution as the only penalty. Then hire executioners with big axes who stand in front of the chamber in every session continuably sharpening the blades as a constant reminder.

Did you see the latest on the tax implications? People who received subsidies did so based on estimates of 2014 income. If they underestimated their income they will now have to reconcile their subsidies (which are actually tax credits) and pay a lot of money back.

They still deny the truth. Yet, the public seems gullible enough to continue to believe them. It's easy to believe someone who tells you you're going to get something for free. If you do get it, you're ahead, if not, you're no further behind. Except, in this case, they will find out that they are caught in the spider's web and can never extricate themselves.
