There is a similar facility outside of Las Vegas at which you can also get a burger - after you've washed the lead dust off your hands, of course. I think it's called "Bullets and Burgers". I wanted to go when we were in Vegas, but I was overloaded.

We also have [as I would hope many states do] something called a ".50 cal shoot". Shooters pay a nominal fee to get in, and gun owners "bring what they got". You walk down the line, and the gun owner tells you how much it will cost to shoot the gun [he's providing ammo, of course]. I paid $50 for a friend [I think she was about 16 at the time] to shoot a 40mm piece of ordnance - that's 1 shot. We all loved it - including the Army infantry guys who were in line behind us. They said "We just maintain them, we never get to shoot them."

You can run though a LOT of money in a VERY short time this way, especially when a "mad minute" is declared. That means everybody fires everything for a minute, mostly at a couple of cars that are downrange.
That nice British guy would have been speechless.

My local range rents submachine guns for use at the range.

They are a lot of fun to shoot if you know what you are doing, but novices need instruction and oversight.

Expensive outing when you do it though. You burn through ammo like there is no tomorrow.
