    Huh?
I reread my statement; although I originally had an anecdote about Walmart in it, I deleted it before posting. So where are you getting that I'm distilling everything to Walmart?

Target, your local grocery store, K-Mart, Big Lots, Dollar General.... lots of stores have shopping carts.

"He became an employee (of sorts) after Dagny appointed him and slipped a C-note into his hand. "

As advance payment for the job she gave him, complete with title. My statement stands.
He's an employee of Taggart Transcontinental.

Well the state representative is a Democrat, so you can understand how he might not grasp the complex philosophical issues.

Only in the movie. In the book he was a homeless tramp hitching a ride in the vestibule of Dagny's private car. He became an employee (of sorts) after Dagny appointed him and slipped a C-note into his hand.

They have rights to *their* property. But, one may ask, from whom do they buy their shopping carts?

Those shopping carts are private property, and just because the politician can't identify them doesn't mean he can destroy them.

That's like saying, I see a car in a parking lot I can't identify, and it happens to be stolen, so I get to smash hell out of it.

Generally speaking, people end up homeless very close to their last homes. Statistically speaking, homeless people did not fly to Hawaii before the last of their cash ran out just to enjoy the surf and sun. These are Hawaiians whose lives collapsed as a result of the very policies promoted and enacted by this representative's own party.
