Sue them for every penny. It's private property. Any kind of group gathering BY LAW must obtain the consent of the owners.

And I don't buy the excuse "oh, we just came to sing Christmas carols". If that's the case, why were you dressed up and carrying signs saying "Black Lives Matter"?

    It's indirect, but I'm dumbstruck watching a MN TV ad asking that teachers performance be considered in hiring! Twilight zone material..

    Quite possible, but I don't want to be that cynical.. Recent transplant here and disbelieving the DLF koolaid. This Marxism will only stop when someone gets jail time.

    Lots of insane folks out there. Some, in a good way
    Ford, Jobs, Rand, and more may well fall into the over, over, over category. But if I were to follow an ancient philosopher, next to Aristotle, Lao Tsu would be a good choice.

    I don't think they are smart enough for the first question or connected enough for the second. If we can convene them again...I'll go ask first-hand...only a ten minute drive.

    It looks like it is going to be a complex case. The demonstrators have the precedent of the cancer victim's gathering. The proof of economic loss on the part of the shopkeepers (who might have lost a significant amount of their annual income) should be a strong differentiator (I suspect that the cancer gathering actually added to the revenue), but my guess is that it will be hotly contested and the lawyers will make a lot of money.

    Simple conjecture about this class of behavior - some mentioned above...

    Some people, lacking a productive purpose as a basis for self esteem, fill the void with simple, attention getting, destructive publicity stunts to feel important.

    The fallacy formally is equating destruction, which any fool can accomplish, with creation that requires good thinking and good judgement.

    Yeah I guess I forgot they don't actually believe or know what their 'cause' even is. If you truly believe in something, you would at least be able to handle some uncomfortable weather or even torture.

    People who commit acts of aggression, theft, etc., always seek to hide behind excuses to absolve themselves of responsibility. The more egregious the crime, the more desperate the excuse.
