I saw the news on Wednesday.. This is pretty dam close to being an invention of fire moment. My real hope is that the folks on the skunkworks team that solved the problem walk away billionaires.. I also hope that lockheed gets this off the ground and selling soon enough that their patents make the company Trillions of dollars..
As far as I am concerned if you solve a problem like this you get to be crazy rich as a reward for having done something this awesome.. Also, while the electricity problem is a awesome win.. Remember that the real thing that the system does is create amazing high temperatures. Which could also be used to very quickly desalinate water via distillation, or if you want to really get outside the box you now have the energy needed to cheaply take c02 out of the air and make it back into gasoline..

From what I've read on this the last couple of days, many are saying the 'new technology' isn't as far along as Lockheed portrays. It's more that Lockheed is seeking investment or partnership. Nevertheless, this could be a world changer, if true and I'm hopeful. What this could do for a distributed grid, well the skies the limit on ideas. But let's see.
