Hard to believe the game of football was almost stopped by Progressives. Interesting history of the game and how Progressives think.

I'm not sure I'd want to be the Commissioner-too much paperwork. also, would you be required to watch the games? I'll just keep the chip bowl filled with one hand and the bottle opener in the other hand.

You know, I'm thinking we should organize a football team for the Gulch: The Gulch Producers. Khalling can be the commissioner. You know she'd want it. I'll start scouting for players.

But wait, there's a problem. Who would we play against? Ok, somebody's got to agree to be on the opposite team: the Gulch moochers? Is that even possible? Nevermind, I think the idea just went down in flames. I guess this is when kh would be yelling her version of YYEEAAAAHHH!. lol.

I think she heard me. :) I guess you'll never catch her (pun intended) wearing a jersey on Sunday?

I totally concur with the pad reduction. Yeah, true throwback days of leather helmets would be a great idea. However, I still watch, though not seriously dedicated. I do catch the highlights on the web and the only time I will actually sit down in front of my computer & watch the whole game is when the following conditions are met: 1) It's the Super Bowl 2) The playoffs, but ONLY when it involves my Steelers. Otherwise, see the first requirement.

You're funny. You must've been around a bunch of Steelers fans. =) But I know what you mean: just when you're about to make your big point about something (ERUPTION OF YEAH!!!!!) & then the commotion and by the time things settle down, you can't remember what the hell you were talking about and the big point which could have changed someone's life. Oh well, back to the beer & chips. :)

It would be great for the players. Baseball and football contracts are paid primarily with money from the TV contracts. Should I be saying aye at the beginning and end of each sentence? Aye.

I'd rather watch a good rugby 7s or 15s match. And has anyone ever studied the game of cricket? Fascinating.

Yes. I like the finesse. part of the game. Fighting bores me. The major networks have all said they will not sign large TV contracts with the NHL until they eliminate fighting.

I'm not really sure where I stand on the issue of fighting. I've never played hockey, so I have nothing close to a player's perspective on why it's part of the game. I need to do research for reasons. but, anyway, I do think for hockey to become more of a finesse game (is that what you mean by "played well"?) in the US, the rinks would have to increase to the international size. the smaller rinks will always make the probability of contact bigger.

They are able to keep it out of international games. Drop your gloves and your ejected is a good deterrent. When its played well hockey is the most exciting sport to watch.
