I'm not sure where to start. None of the terms you mention has ever been used by a sports franchise. I believe that the Redskins owner chose that name back in the 1930s when he moved the team and no longer wanted to use the name Braves. He wanted to keep the theme the same and settled on Redskins. At the time they had Native Americans on the team. There is no indication that they were offended. I seriously question the motives of those who now claim the name is offensive especially Harry Reid and other politicians. This is a PC witch hunt and I don't think the terms you mentioned Mike are appropriate comparisons.

Niggers. About a decade ago, maybe two, some people who happened to self-identify as "African-American" defended rap music that over-abused the word "nigger" on the grounds that "it is our word" for ourselves. If you are nominally a "white" person (or otherwise non-African-American) and use the word "nigger" then you are a racist. However, if you are otherwise a "black" person or someone of "color" then you are entitled to call others whom you choose to identify within your group as "niggers." Of course, that is all nonsense, merely a symptom of deep social oppression. So, too, here, was the film producer able to find some ignorant, oppressed persons who self-identify with a "tribe" and then make them the speakers for millions of unnamed others. If someone produced a video with a dozen women who were proud to be called cunts, would that make it right?
