One of my offices is in Sacramento...the capitol of the golden state. There is a main street right through the middle of down town, of this state capitol - J Street. You would think it's bustling, right? Nope. I have watched it deteriorate over the past decade. But, I was still shocked when, a few days ago, I walked a few blocks of it on foot. Every single, street-level, storefront is now empty. There might be one or two that aren't. I saw a one-legged man dragging himself around in a wheelchair and the thought popped into my head, "This looks like Detroit". I was really chilled to see the sad state of this street. I could never imagine it this empty. It's mind-boggling. I am going to walk it again soon if I get the "who is John Galt" post it's and put them on the front doors of all the empty spots.
