    no
Archie is closer to real Americans, he is just bad at explain why he believes what he believes

and is it Archie that always seems to be the one ridiculed, at least at that time the show was on

    remember who made the show

the episode of the draft dodgers comes to mind
if this nation had presented a solid front to the damn commies in Southeast Asia, 3,000,000 people would not have been murdered when the democrats forced the US out of the Vietnam War they started. but none of that is mentioned, of course. so less lives would have been lost, on both sides.

    meathead is a moron
meathead's wife is a hollow shell of a person

All in the Family just about always had Archie on the losing side
    on purpose

I enjoyed All in the Family. It was well written and presented multiple views of an issue. The viewer would likely be exposed to an opinion they had not considered. Most of the other TV s hows were drivel.

I want to unpack your message, “ridiculed REAL Americans”, are you saying that All in the Family is a picture of a REAL American family? And if so, whom is being ridiculed, Archie, Meathead, or the whole family? I think the producers respectively brought family discord on various topics into the open, promoting discussion that wouldn’t have happened naturally. I don’t think All in the Family ridiculed REAL Americans because they were a fictitious family, with a weekly issue most of the country watched. At least they didn’t have Edith turn lesbo and run off with Meatheads sister while Meathead was strung out on meth. I’m just saying the cap on TV today is horrific…
