It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like 1776

From the article~~
"The escalating conflict between Texas Governor Abbot and President Biden ia a manifestation and a microcosm of a larger war brewing between a lawless and unconstitutional federal government and the American people. The Biden regime, in particular, has been completely unaccountable. But their arrogance and underestimation of the will of the American people will hopefully lead to their downfall."

people in the USA have gotten used to the extra money spent by government that hasn't been obtained by taxation. The economy would shrink probably substantially IF deficit spending was eliminated. I would personally be willing to tolerate the reduction in the economy (temporarily)

Agreed. In my version, the budget maxes out at the actual tax revenues received in the second fiscal year prior to the one being budgeted. That means that the government can only grow spending if they FIRST grow tax revenues - something that doesn't happen without a decent economy to go with it. I'd also make it so that the US government could not authorize a private entity to play the role of a central bank in the US.

that is indeed disturbing. they would simply print money. we need a balance budget amendment to the constitution immediately, and just deal with the short term consequences of that.

While I appreciate the idea, you are predicating your suggestion on the idea that government CARES about the revenue side of the equation. If anything in the past twenty years has shown us, THEY DON'T. They are spending money they don't even have and THEY DON'T CARE.

There is an intermediate method of revolt- People just not paying taxes passively. All it would take is like 20% reduction in tax revenue to cause major governmental funding problems.

Now in non-fiction, at least in Argentina. Coming soon to a venue near you.

I am constantly reminded of Obama's comment not to underestimate Joe's ability to "eff" things up. With 70% of the American electorate unhappy with his open borders policy, this is a political collision that that kills his reelection chances without a doubt, especially if he tries to federalize the Texas National Guard.

The Border Patrol Union has already put the White House on notice they support Abbot's effort to control the border, and do not want to have any conflict with the Texas Guard, with whom they have a cooperative relationship. They further suggest they may decide not to obey any order that would require them to arrest Guard members, considering such order unlawful.

What will happen if Biden decides to federalize the Texas National Guard is anyone's guess. There will undoubtedly be some uniformed Texans who choose to disobey orders, creating an internal rebellion and further alienating the President from most Americans.

There is going to have to be either a return to the principles of freedom or we will all slide into the tyranny we rebelled from in 1776. No two ways about it. The real question is whether or not it will happen via peaceful means or via armed revolt.

IMHO, Biden started a fight with the States not expecting them to fight back. Now everyone knows what he did and is finally starting to push back. My hope is that people aren't so enamored with the welfare state that they realize it is slavery all over again.

After observing all that is going on in the world today, all I can say is "watch out" This increasingly rogue administration and its senile leader may, at some point in time and, out of confusion and desperation invite in UN "peacekeepers" to prop up its assault on the law and our venerable constitution. The relentless attack is even more pronounced in the way the administration is relentlessly going after the country's good, law abiding citizens! What we are witnessing is far more dark than one can imagine and is only rivaled by something that a science fiction writer such as Isaac Asimov could have imagined! These are truly dark times that we are living in!

Actually, we are a far cry from the conditions of 1776. Government intrusion is geometrically worse than that of King George and the American spirit is far from total ethical and political independence.

    Me too, Dino, me too.
I say and we all should say to briben, obobo and whom ever else is thinking their in control, should go down with their kitchen knives and pink purses to fight this border war themselves, in person and with no help if they think it's so important. Otherwise Shut the F''k UP!

That's pretty much how conflicts that could have been avoided always work out.
    Shit rolls downhill.
Even if there's blood, "Shucks," say the losing fat cats before they move on.
Fat cats whose side wins will cheer "Me, myself and I won!" even if there is a high body count of looked down upon "little people" who may or may not get paychecks.
    Pessimistic, ain't I?

It is unfortunate that the creatures that brought this stand off on will not be physically harmed, they will not suffer any of the physical consequences, those that fight this battle will.

Only if I can join MACA for Make America Constitutional Again.
After all, when the Constitution was written people were getting hanged without having their necks humanely snapped.

"rise up and punch these bastards in the mouth?"
Rise up and shoot all the treasonous scum in the head is a more practical and adequate punishment.
    No Anti-American pardons possible.

It's about time somebody opened their eyes to see that the 2nd revolution has been overdue for more than 35 years.
