Can not wait until this is evaluated in court! Any takers on the outcome?

An absolute violation of the right to keep and BEAR arms. One of the founding fathers foresaw this kind of bullshit when he added that.

Oh, those with permits can have guns provided they are locked up in such-and-such ways, etc.? Then, a citizen with a permit (if he can jump through enough hoops to actually get one), can have a gun, provided he is never going to be actually able to use it, is that it?

The arrogant, unfiltered words of someone with no consequences for their actions ... royalty, oligarchy, totalitarian.

Totally agree. Politicians and public servants need to suffer as bad or worse than citizens when they violate the law. A person goes to jail for a felony illegally buying a gun. A politician or civil servant MUST know the limits of their powers too, and should absolutely GO TO JAIL for overstepping. They should go be removed, excluded from public service (or complete remedial training with a test depending on the severity), and/or never to serve again!

They must be held accountable for illegal activity precisely like a proletarian peasant would be.

Maybe it's time to define the punishment(s) for any person who violates the constitution and amendments.
If violators are rarely if ever punished, there is little reason for anyone to obey the constitution.
Start with (a) tar and feathers, and (b) imprisonment for life on a remote Aleutian Island with enough material and tools to build a shelter.
