I have a simple solution that will NEVER HAPPEN.
Step 1: Use the military aerial drones to patrol the border and declare a 1 mile wide NO-MANS land. Have the drones kill anything that moves inside that border. Allow a single entry point and closely inspect EVERYTHING that passes there.

Step 2: Check the origins of EVERY single person within America and any who are not citizens are shipped to the country of origin at that countries expense.

Step 3: Confiscate ALL property of those shipped out and auction off EVERYTHING to the highest bidder, ONLY US citizens allowed to bid.

Kill a few and they will stop coming.

If handled efficiently a large area is not required. It's a place to get them off US soil to determine where they are from and repatriate them immediately. Expensive? Yes, but still cheaper than the current drain on the taxpayer and, like I said above, bill their home country in some way to cover the costs of shipping and handling. The key is to get them off US soil as fast as possible.

Having been to GITMO twice (before it became a prison), there isn't enough room for 700K people.

This would NOT be happening on China's border unless the illegals were coming to be shot or relocated to a slave labor camp. The US should turn them away as seen here or taken to Gitmo for repatriation to wherever they came from and a bill presented to their home country for all expenses incurred. They should NOT be allowed to stay within the US borders.
