    There is something to the horsehoe theory.
    Also it's not unheard of for people to exploit irrational ideologies and consider people who believe them useful idiots.

    Right, they both hated each other, but that doesn't prevent totalitarians from copying each other's playbooks!

    The soviets, communists, hated the nazis with passion. The soviets were infamously brutal to the nazi's they captured and imprisoned. That said, no.
