Atlas Shrugged Comes up Often in Conversations Lately

Happened again today. My former colleagues back in California are continuing to be totally unable to lure not only good applicants for open positions....they aren't getting ANY applicants for jobs that are up around $200k/year. Nobody. I have been telling them, "Any good engineer who isn't attached to California via some government job has already left. One by one they are starting to agree with me. Today I was playing golf with a high-tech engineering type. His wife is a pediatric dentist who just opened her own practice. Can barely find enough help to open the doors. In general...it seems like nobody wants to work. I said, "This reminds me of a book I first read 15 years ago..." Went on to explain Atlas Shrugged. As I said to him today...I am really surprised at how much it is starting to feel non-fiction lately. Pretty amazing...

I went out of Galt's Gulch Online; I had to do something on my e-mail involving business. Then I signed out of my e-mail and came back to Galt's Gulch Online, but I wasn't shown any place to sign in with my regular handle. I didn't mean to come in illegitimately, but it looks like I can't get the sign-in page. What's going on?

I have read it referred to a few times an the radio lately.
Glenn Beck used to refer frequently to Ayn Rand, but then said the only thing he didn't like about her was that she didn't believe in God, and since then (I think about 4 or 5 years ago), he seems to have thrown her under a bus.
