Arguing concepts such as individual liberty, ownership of self and labor, individual accountability, and self-determination with a half-dozen people over this BS tipping fiasco I was asked a wonderfully opportunistic question by someone:

"And what do you see when you look in the mirror?"

To which I replied "John Galt."

Being that father of two second generation objectivists, and two grown-up grandchildren still groping their way, when I look in the mirror, I see John Galt's old man.

Everyone's gotta have a dad. Wouldn't it be nice to have one who is an objectivist? Probably the best gift I gave my kids, considering what they were being taught in school. It made for lots of, "Dad, howcum....." discussions.Sad to say, they learned at an early age that to not agree with the prevailing attitudes at school and in the neighborhood caused them difficulties socially. Didn't matter in the long run and when they were able to flaunt their successes at the 10 year high school reunions. Actually, they didn't flaunt. They didn't have to.

When I read of the 20-cent-tip my first thought was: "Pretty sure he's bad at math."

When our President speaks of a fast retreat out of a press conference announcing the rising threat of ISIS back to the golf course as "bad optics", it's difficult to imagine a famous person deliberately putting himself under the media microscope...!?!

On top of that, it is hard to imagine someone who is so image-obsessed about his legacy to allow himself to become so infamous a liar. "Period."

He's not concerned about legacy. He was given a job and he's doing it. Its obvious from his actions that O is not American by birth or by upbringing. He was funded by foreign powers, elevated by useful idiOts, and rules for the sole purpose of deconstructing thui nation. He is the ultimate fraud, the muslim manchurian president.

I respectfully disagree with my honorable fellow gulcher.
IMO, O = 0 is a socialist who deconstructs the nation as a student of Cloward and Piven. He doubled the debt with a disguised stimulus as a hope of crashing the economy and leading a parade of lemmings into a socialist utopia of really awful for real "fundamental change.". So far the United States has proven to be put together stronger than a lot of people thought, myself included. So far. A $ bubble may be yet to burst.
O = 0 also believes that the big bad American capitalist republic has caused most of the problems in the world and needs to be taken down several pegs. This misguided thinking inspired his "apology tour" with a couple of visible bows (that were argued not to be bows because crew Obama says so)) at the start of the chairman's first term.
I think O= 0 actually blames the USA for the Cold War. That is why O = 0 thumbed his nose at Europe over a missile defense system Russia did not like.
I think it breaks O = 0's cheating heart that his hero, Putin, who he was overheard offering promises to on what he thought was a switched off mike, has found O = 0 to be a spineless weakling to take advantage of.

In either perspective he is the antithesis of everything American. There is no way, in my mind, that anyone born or raised here can be as he is. I believe though that he is far dangerous/damaging more than a socialist could ever be (and that saying quite a bit).

AJ, pundits say Obummer's politiccal career started in the home of Bill Ayers. That is very left wing to me.
Nevertheless, we're on the same side. All the malicious creeps are on the other.

Kids, low information voters, and others who have skated through life are now in situations where they need to answer the question (WiJG?) whether or not they actually know AS or AR. They need to decide what kind of country they want to live in and what role governments will have. My dad was a college student in December, 1941. I can imagine, at that time, that he began asking similar questions that, before the attack on Pearl Harbor, had little significance to him. He was a veteran and survived WWII. Were he alive today, I like to believe that he would have strong feelings about people who voted twice for a Muslim who was born in Africa and is openly working to destroy this country and has the support of so many others -- with no moral compass to guide them. Sadly, we are living the tragedy of A.S. Sadly, a lot of people have not awakened to this reality. Thanks to everyone who has helped create A.S. We desperately need this powerful message displayed in teachable ways as it is on the theatre screen.

      Re: weepingbeaver,

you wrote a great comment until you stated, "I like to believe that he would have strong feelings about people who voted twice for a Muslim who was born in Africa and is openly working to destroy this country and has the support of so many others -- with no moral compass to guide them." You wrote it as a statement and not as a question as it could legitimately be> furthermore, by writing as you did, you diminish your legitimate opinions that certainly is validated by the total mismanagement of our economy and by what are clearly socialist and may even be considered communist ideas being fostered by this administration. That this administration has totally mismanaged our economy is without a doubt, the only question that remains is whether it was done purposefully or not?

Other than that caveat, I must fully agree with your intent if not the specifics I mentioned. Casting unprovable aspersions is never a way to be convincing.
