What really caused the symptoms recognized as polio?
Hmmm.
Rockefeller Labs was experimenting with the polio virus and trying to produce the most virulent strain they could. This lab was a few miles from the epicenter of the polio outbreak in 1916. Yes, 1916 was when the largest outbreak of polio vaccine occurred.

- 1Posted by $ 25n56il4 1 year, 8 months agoI shall never forget my childhood and the polio epidemic. In our tiny little city at that time, one of my very good friends got polio. I recall visiting at her home and she was in that nasty looking iron lung. She did go on to college, however, and became a lab tech at one of our prestigious hospitals in Houston.
