[T]he financial numbers for Victoria's Secret suggest that intersectionality might not provide a successful foundation for underwear sales. The company's stock has declined 32 percent since its peak immediately after the reorganization last year. The company recently forecasted declining sales numbers and, in a survey conducted by Bank of America, 23 percent of women said that they liked Victoria's Secret less than they did pre-Covid, compared with 13 percent who said they liked it more. Executives have even tried to blame poor financial performance on the war in Ukraine, which doesn't suggest confidence.

By itself, Victoria's Secret is insignificant. It hardly matters whether the undergarment manufacturer fails or succeeds. But as a symbol, the company provides insight into the political culture of America's multinational corporations, which exert an enormous influence over public life.

Part of the stupidity of their "strategy" (I even hesitate to grace it with that term) was that there were already several well established plus size womens underwear manufacturers with solid reputations, with much more well-known plus size models who showed the styles with class. The new VS ads made it seem like they insisted their models try to look as frumpy and angry as possible, so it's almost like they think their audience wants to see a model who looks like she's thinking "I really hate wearing this crap."

NotTheBee was the original source of the article. Go to that site and you’ll find the quotes.
It was long and had a lot of advertisements in it. I copy pasted the core story and posted it.

Intersectionality really means an attempt by fake victims to prioritize the demands of different subgroups of fake victims. Naturally there is more than one way to prioritize them, and every so often they fight about who's on top.

I laugh at anyone who joins in the fray.

Here in Upstate NY Rip V an Winkle wakes up from another 20 year sleep.
Looking around he sees a familiar bar that still stands after 20 years and walks in.
Immediately he is recognized and a shout goes up
    "You Woke?"
To which Rip replies " No way! I'm a Republican".

Where is that quote from the percentage declines come from? I couldn't find it in the linked article.

I'm just glad to know that it wasn't because they started using models based on their "self identity".

I would really like to see a poll conducted comparing Biden’s approval rating to Putin’s with the American people.
    Just out of curiosity.
Imagine a write in campaign for “Vladimir Putin 2024”.

That's because when Putin takes his shirt off for photo ops, demoralized Western women don't think they can compete to even approach matching his supercharged risque aura by wearing sexy lingerie.
A topless Mad Vlad even makes Las Vegas strippers want to completely cover themselves with burkas. Yes, Mad Vlad be bad.

I had to look up "intersectionality" and found this:

    "noun
the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage: through an awareness of intersectionality, we can better acknowledge and ground the differences among us."

I now know as much as I did before I looked it up. Rush Limbaugh called this crap "psychobabble".
