The AMA has gone full woke

There is a new entry in the "How Woke Can We Go" sweepstakes, thanks to the AMA. It seems doctors need to be more politically correct and gentle when referring to certain patients, but encouraged to rake other patients over the coals.

There is a law in California where if a healthcare worker guesses a patient's pronoun(s) incorrectly it's something like up to $5000 fine and 6 months in jail. I forget the details but it's about that bad. This reminds me of a few years ago when an architect I work with (the best damned architect I've worked with) was railing on the fact that the AIA did the same kind of thing - turn hard left/woke. He stopped paying the $1000+ annual dues and is no longer part of the organization. This is happening everywhere and I just refuse to take part. I'm like a my own version of Jordan Peterson. I just refuse to take part and be told what words to use. I'll always be cordial and respectful as appropriate...But, we can't let them mandate the words we use.

"...a pile of words thrown together like a child's alphabet blocks--with talking heads nodding sagely as if it all means something." You made me smile here, katrinam41. LOL

It reminds me of trying to make sense of a political speech--a pile of words thrown together like a child's alphabet blocks--with talking heads nodding sagely as if it all means something. We have reached the point where pretence is all the so-called intellectuals have to offer. If this is Atlas Shrugged in real life, I say we are soon to hear about the Thompson Harmonizer...

The article is worse than wading through "The Communist Manifesto". I started reading, then skipping, then gave up. So much drivel paved over with intellectual verbiage in an attempt to legitimize itself is a waste of time.

That phrase is probably just a little too strong to use at this point. Give it time. I'm sure the powers that be will eventually get to admitting it.

    I read through...fairly thoroughly.
I didn't see "Cull the herd".
