My observation: if/when the federal government eliminates hard currency and forces the country into total electronic payment how will the "under the table economy work?" When my son was in Ukraine he observed the underground economy first hand. People had two sources of income - that which was reportable to the government for taxes and the other cash economy and barter which sustained them.
My take is that the massive expansion of government will create epic problems and we must think ahead and prepare.
Where is all this money coming from?
Make health care free and universal and take hospital and health insurance profits out of it.
Ensure every worker who wants a union can join one, so that all workers, and especially essential workers, can bargain for good pay and benefits, safe conditions, and a voice on the job.
Guarantee universal child care, paid family and medical leave and paid sick days, and income support for parents taking care of kids full time.
Provide safe, affordable housing for all.
Guarantee home and community based services for everyone, including mental health care.
Cancel student debt, an unfair burden on working and middle class young adults.
Same with all the other industries. There won't be any jobs for anyone to want!
How can they be so blind?
Those who are buying this tale are ignorant of mathematics, economics, and scientific methods. They never learned rational skepticism and have been brainwashed to feel whatever government tells them to feel. Everything is FREE!
