This scientist gives good reasons why he should be believed and our scientists not.

I'll admit that I do know what a lymphocyte is, and I almost know what antigens are. How many on this board really understand the subject well enough to comment?

We are 66 and 78 y.o., have not been tested, have some bad habits, and just keep cranking along. I have a post-retirement job which involves contact with the public, to some extent, not affected by all this paranoia, yet.
Hmmmm. Demdemic is for other folks, the believers of the MSM and the left. Apparently. VitC is your friend.

They do, indeed! I have never heard of a disease related to wearing a mask but I would imagine that there is some associated with wearing the same mask over and over.

The leftists always move the goalposts when the narrative doesn't work out the way they wanted it to.
There is a disease/illness associated with wearing a mask. Something about re-breathing toxins expelled from the body via exhaling which find a home in the mask and then the lungs upon intake.
Sorry, I'm not a scientist, so it may not be clear what I'm saying.
However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn one time, years ago.

Plandemic panic porn. Petty tyrants are all in their basements ejaculating with shouts of joy.

Good people ought to be armed as they will, with wits and Guns and THE TRUTH.

One major point in this article that I really appreciated was the part about Coronavirus being "novel". At the very start of this thing early this year, I was making this point in "certain circles". And got shouted down as a "denier" and even "flat-earther" without addressing my point. How telling and how familiar.

It was known from the get go that there is a close genetic affinity between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 (Duh) and even MERS. And that 4 types of coronaviruses are the common cold. But, no; they had to go for the scarism with the trembling word of "novel" (Oh,no!) and call for global lockdown. When none of the previous and similar viruses ever called for a similar lockdown.

Unbelievable the immensity of this scam. And they are not done. Supposedly, Nevada is now to remain in Phase 1 until there is a vaccine. Sisolak in lockstep with Newsome.

Doug, let me explain. An antigen enters the body and our B lymphocytes manufacture antibodies. Many times they produce a whole popilation of lymphocytes to react more quickly the next time the antigen appears.

This is different from getting the disease. There is a threshold titer of virus which if eclipsed, will result in S/S and/or disease. Below that threshold, no sickness but still will give a positive result to an antibody screen.

Fine, we don't really worry too much about those. In 99.999% of infections, there is no transmittance at low levels of viral presence.

The world at present, is obsessed by positive tests, not actual disease and certainly, they are exaggerating deaths. Deaths and hospitalizations are the real key to risk, not positive tests.

It’s worse than that. Antibodies Ab are a response to antigens Ag that are components of the pathogen.

I agree and it seems no one can see the difference between having antibodies to something and having that something.

This Swiss scientist made a cogent point that the tests are too sensitive. So, if you had a common cold you could have viral remnants in your body and cause a false positive due to the highly sensitive tests. I believe that an older person, myself included, can maintain and improve their health. I do have some health issues so I exercise using bands, free weights, and Chinese Internal Martial Arts, & Chi Breathing exercises alternately during the week. My wife and I try to eat as healthy as we able too. I take a number of beneficial supplements at AM & PM. Plus, walking my Australian Cattle Dog up & down a 45 deg hill by my house 4 to 5 times a day. I have limited contact with people except when I have to go into town for supplies. I believe that many older adults have very poor health habits or none at all.

In re masks, the traditional Plague Doctor Mask is proven effective, complete with air filtration compartment of herbals. “ In the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the now-obsolete miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection. The design of these clothes has been attributed to Charles de Lorme, the chief physician to Louis XIII. (Wikipedia)”

They thought the Miasmatic Theory of Disease was obsolete, but it has been resurrected as a tool of the Plandemic.

Right now because the numbers of deaths is falling, they've moved the goalposts to number of infections - a ridiculous standard.

I am similarly outraged regarding Washington State's recent mask requirements. I decided to have fun with it and wear an 'over the top' gas mask... plus, I fashioned a tin-foil hat by applying aluminum foil to a climbing helmet. I amble about in the shops and chat with the staff and other customers in a manner to illustrate the absurdity of it all.

Perhaps you could have some fun with the Michigan requirement - be creative, place your Mask Required sign on the door where the picture on the sign shows a soldier with a WW1 mask on. Or, include some verbiage to the effect that Tin Foil Hats are optional. The idea is to clearly state your view on masks and that this whole thing is an exercise of arbitrary power by the panic porn peddlers.

"I have also not yet understood why epidemiologists were so much more interested in the number of deaths, rather than in the numbers that could be saved." .. good question. Perchance could it be the 'political' aspect of the whole thing?

But, but, but...this is not accurate.

We know that there are people who are immune to some viruses (ie HIV). We know that there are carriers of bacterial infections (ie Typhoid Mary) who are asymptomatic. And we can see that this virus is not 'just going away' because it is summer.

    I am baffled.

Consistent with other rational thinkers / scientists. As a business owner in Michigan I am supposed to be in the "Mask Police" according to Gov Bitchmer opps Whitmer. If I fail to post a sign on my door "no mask - no service" and if someone complains to LARA that I am not enforcing her mandate I can be fined $500 and lose my business license. I am NOT HER MASK POLICE. This BS has got to end.

Perhaps. Do you? That was my point.

What is science is a broad and deep field of study.

Karl Popper’s The Logic of Scientific Discovery was written in 1935 and still hotly debated. Falsificationism is a good beginning.

I sure like the idea that people over 65 go into hibernation if they like, and the rest of us move on.

Can't say that I like his name, "Dr. Stadler"! lol! But he makes some good points.

Stadler is the former director of the Institute for Immunology at the University of Bern, a biologist and professor emeritus. I suspect he/she has a good idea of what science is.
