“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public. “ Booker T Washington 1911
It's a shame I can't give you more than a point for sharing this old gem of insight. I would have paid money to hear someone say this at one of the recent press conferences. Just think of all the on-air opportunities that were missed.
The media does not reflect importance of the story, only its ability to grab the attention of the masses. People like to invent their own narrative of what is going on, its easy for the media to lead them down the white-black racism path.
Because the race merchants can't go into a tirade over that and milk monetary contributions from emotional reactions.... in fact, if anything, they'd stand and applaud it and call it justice (hop hop) "Justice" (hop hop) "Justice".
Doesn't fit the narrative. I wonder what would have happened in Ferguson if they reported the police officer had died from his injuries??? It may have diffused the situation long enough to keep things from getting out of hand.
Oh Chucky, where've ya been? We always roll this way in here. I can't believe Rich isn't waving his prize around... he must've had to go pick up his kilt from the cleaners again or something. (hop hop) lol

Mexicans get away with it too.
This is why I am armed.
