Nothing Changes As Long As You Obey

Blacks suffered for many decades in the American south. They complained endlessly, but the laws were against them and remained against them. A significant number of white people were sympathetic, but everyone obeyed the law and little changed.

Until King came along, of course, with his new strategy of goodness plus disobedience.

King, for whatever his shortcomings, was a serious minister, and had a clear vision of what goodness entailed. And, he became very good at communicating it. King added disobedience to goodness, and combined them with teachings on courage and self-control.

Within a decade or so of using this strategy, things changed in the American south. First, individuals changed. And, after a while, laws followed.

To state the obvious, King's (and Gandhi's) method of peaceful civil disobedience is beginning to be applied against tyrannical Democrat governors and big city mayors who hope a crippled economy will hinder Trump's chances of being reelected.
Me dino does not think that strategy will stop Trump, though massively cheating with mailed-in votes might.
Nevertheless, corrupted by power governors and mayors issuing obeyed unconstitutional executive orders damages the lives of people who need to get back to work as well as many small business that will not return with the jobs they provide.

I think the stupidity of these governors' lockdown orders will backfire on them. People, like me, are getting fed up with the nonsense of wearing masks (since they will NOT protect me at all). We each should be responsible for our own health, and make our own decisions. If I want to protect myself from corona, maybe I choose NOT to get on a crowded subway car in NYC, or a crowded elevator, or a cruise ship, or a 5 hour plane flight- at least until the virus has run its course and we have herd immunity from individuals or a vaccine.

I think the stupidity of those control freaks will backfire on them too. Such dim Dem actions should only help get them voted out of office and their targeted Trump reelected.
Because I'm 73 with type 2 diabetes, I wear a mask in such crowded places as grocery and drug stores. Outside I prefer fresh air.
Inside right now I sure as heck ain't wearing a mask.

I am 74 and am somewhat careful too. I go to the walmart neighborhood market during senior hour in the morning when its basically empty, and I dont think I would be standing in a buffet line for an hour (if the buffets were even open). Common sense tells us what to do I think. Fauci can tell me what he knows, and then I will decide what I will do about it.

I believe CV to be several variants, at least seven, of a bioweapon. It is designed to resist both immunity and vaccines. Many people are getting it for a second time right now. This is based upon the common cold virus so it will NEVER go away. Are you immune to the common cold?

No you are not. WAKE UP. This is a weapon. More are coming.

And it was foisted on us by the chinese CCP. I dont think its an accident that they are announcing new controls over Hong Kong, new advances in the south china sea, and a takeover of the WHO with promise of 2 billion dollars. The CCP is a severe ENEMY of the rest of the world

I have not worn a mask, so far.
If I needed to travel by bus or train or plane I would rethink.
Buildings which have central aircon or airflow, especially with older systems, should be suspect, it is hard to avoid these completely. This 6-feet separation may be ok in still air but if there is an air flow then nasties can be carried up and around. A mask may help or add danger. If you wear one, check you know how to put it on and take off, and what maintenance is needed, washable or disposable. Do not put fingers under it to eat or scratch your nose.

        Herd immunity- cannot be guaranteed.
A vaccine, 3, 4, or 5 years would be normal, so by Jan 2021 stretches credibility, and if there is one and it works, is it safe?
From what little I know, do not reuse to wear a mask just because you ordered to do so.

I think we are getting a lot of misinformation, designed to prolong the economic shurtdown to damage trumps re-election. I am tired of the whole coronavirus thing. Viruses travel through the population until there is herd immunity from individuals or a vaccine. The models the "experts" put out are just that, and I dont believe any of them.

We are all facing the same thing today with this corona virus thing. Government has violated many of our rights in forcing us to stay home, not work, sacrifice our businesses, not go to church, not be able to eat out. And we have, so far, just buckled under (probably out of fear put out by the media).

Its time to stop this madness and remove all the restrictions to personal freedom and our livelihoods. I am happy to see people all over the country just refusing to "obey" the nonsense any longer.

If a person is afraid of catching corona, it is HIS responsibility to protect himself by taking precautions, including staying home. BUT, for those who are more adventurous, have better immune systems, and make the decision to take other actions, let them go about their business.

As to all the regulations about masks, cleanliness, etc. , let it be up to individual businesses to decide what to do, and let the people make the decision as to whether to be a customer or not.

I have decided NOT to go to costco as long as they require masks. The mask doesnt protect me, and I am not infected, so its a useless requirement and doesnt protect anyone.

As to this social distancing thing, a lot of what I do requires much closer contact with people. Arbitrary regulations set by ivory tower bureaucrats are just stupid and will increase business costs and set the economy at a lower new normal- costing everyone.

Remove all restrictions on personal freedom set upon us by the collectivist reaction to the coronsvirus- NOW. No "phases"

Thank you for saving me the time of typing ... I am in harmony with what you are stating here ... in particular the part regarding the responsibility belonging to the individual -- decide for yourself how to interact in public, or if at all. As for me, I am heading outside, into the fresh air and sunlight sans virtue-signalling-mask. There are plenty of alternatives to Costco. Our shooting range recently reopened. I will be heading out there again tomorrow, for both the shooting, and to be in the happy company of like minded individualists.

King's (and Gandhi's) tactics work as long as the government you're fighting against depends on popular opinion and can be shamed into doing what's right. Against a Fascist or Communist dictator they would have gotten nowhere, and would not even be allowed publicity until they were forced to publicly "confess" being con artists, aggressors, and traitors.

Today it's worth trying. But there will be a point where we have to quit and fight.

Those that call you "Down Trodden" are themselves trodding under, those that say they'll help, serve only to hinder and those that claim they are your friend are indeed your enemy.

IMO, the Kung Flu started as a Chinese biological warfare experiment gone wrong, but US politicians are seizing upon the opportunity to impose serious and illegal sanctions on all Americans to see how much they'll accept. Resist!

Wuhan was copying our Ft Detrick Bio Lab Lev 4. We helped them set it up. Well Fauci and Gates did with millions in taxpayer money via the NIH. Since China is even more corrupt and inept than the US Army, the viruses we gave them "escaped".

Ft. Detrick Bio Lab was shut down permanently back in Jul/Aug 2019... just before all the "Vaping" deaths in the USA and the first known case in Wuhan last NOV. They had international military games there and many of the soldiers got sick.

The USA has fingerprints all over this and China is a convenient patsy. I, personally, am all for war with China and have been since the 90s. They suck and they gotta go. #NukeChina

We are still in the process of moving from our home in the country to our home in the city. Because of physical and medical problems with us and our aging cat population, I can no longer take care of everything I'd like to. I'm 70, hubby is 85 and we drive 300 mile round trips everything 10-12 days to pack and organize both places. I refuse to let my property decay and rot away because of a travel ban. To us, this IS essential travel. Civil disobedience is what others call it. Pfffffft😂
