Overwhelm the system?

Listening to Commo, it seems that many have forgotten that the reason to do their "lockdown" was to "flatten the curve". THAT does not reduce the number of cases.

The attached explanation of flattening the curve show the reality of this ..... THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CASES DOES NOT CHANGE !!!! ..... IF the system is not overwhelmed, (which currently it has not been in most cases), the total number of deaths eventually will be the same based on the morbidity of the virus. It could be lessened by vaccines etc ONLY if we remain locking everyone down until vaccines are widely available. THAT wait is insanity.

With the actions of governments currently there can be no herd immunity developed.

Herd immunity could develop MUCH faster than waiting for the "vaccine".

It is obvious that this stay home but everyone go to the same grocery store makes no common sense , But not the office is absurd. Now Dr Ryan from the WHO is suggesting they may need go into homes to physically take out symptomatic family members. Also The mayor of L A is offering cash to snitches of people who leave home to often. This manufactured incident is a deepstate attempt to Quash dissadents from France yellow jackets to Hong Kong and mostly to get rid of Trump. That’s the valid info that needs scrutiny.

I'll go you one further, Bubba! I don't believe any of the talking heads on TV and I have chastised my county news paper for being alarmists. N

neither do I BUT it explains in an easy absorbed content that social distancing and flattening the curve does NOT reduce total cases ....

Sometimes our own negative bias can keep us from looking at valid information?

agree with part of what you say .... teh purpose of the post was to bring up the FACT that the "lockdown" was intended to ensure the medical system was not overwhelmed at any point in time.

Doesn't it seem this is now being ignored as the purpose and it has morphed into reducing cases (which lockdown does not do in the long run.)

They'll grant you freedom if you take the vaccine once it's delivered. That's only a half-joke...

Herd immunity is a joke. This virus is now part of our environment. People need to start taking care of their immune systems. People need to stop being obese, while we're at it. Look at the news stories of people taken in their prime and tell me how many aren't obese. But no. People will keep the extra 70 pounds on and wait for the government to produce another cure-all. There are anti-virals showing real promise, but it will hardly be reported. The vaccine will be better for controlling the livestock (you and me).
