Govt. mishandling of the pandemic could create a Great Depression

Mistaking a growth in detection for a growth in occurrence makes it look like existing measures are not working, and governments quickly assume they must do something even more draconian.

The stats are infected with bias toward increasing the death rate and the infection growth rate, as shown in the essay.

Many who have been infected and recovered wil never be tested or counted. I don’t even know if autopsies are performed on the dead or if causes in addition to the Covid resulted in deaths .Especially in China. Videos of people being dragged and forced into vans from China causes suspicion. Statistics are like bikinis ,what is revealed is suggestive what is concealed is vital.

Trump is working to make America Great .Most all of his actions are evidence of that statement. This is not just another 4 yr election. When the MSM implodes ,nonstop propaganda will end with it.
Many will be arrested as co conspirators.

    >Decide for yourself (be free from outside opinion).
    >Decide for yourself (be objective in your conclusions).
    >Decide for yourself (be true in your own beliefs).
    >Decide for yourself (be open to following the facts).
    >Decide for yourself (be strong in defending your beliefs).
    >Decide for yourself (be resistant to blindly accepting fact-less statements).
    Those who attack you.
    Those who mock you.
    Those who cull you.
    Those who control you.
    Those who label you.
    Do they represent you?
Or, do they represent themselves (in some form)?
    Mental Enslavement.
The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding ‘mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of ‘group-think’), but, more importantly, aid in the construction of a vehicle (a ‘ship’) that provides the scattered (‘free thinkers’) with a ‘starter’ new social-networking platform which allows for freedom of thought, expression, and patriotism or national pride (the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland and alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment).
When ‘non-dogmatic’ information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable.
When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable (‘group-think’ collective), and have ‘free thought’.
"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.
Difficult truths will soon see the light of day.

Thinking rationally the premise if flawed. This is not a pandemic, I admit that I can only speak for the US. The numbers are barely a fraction of the numbers seen for the annual flu in exposure, infection and death.
The hype and panic elicited by the MSM is absurd and its getting in the way of my liberty. Its growing old.

I am fully aware of what the DS is capable of in order to get rid of Trump. After all else failed, it is highly likely that the epidemic is the result of a consciously planned agenda.

Still Trump is taking it in stride like he did all the other attempts. I believe he'll overcome this one as well.

The manipulations and lies of the DS and the left are too obvious and transparent not to see even for the most ignorant.

The only proof (if you will accept it) is the fact of how the media, which has been out to get Trump from the beginning, and is pushing the narrative. They love this for 2 reasons. First, it is making them a boatload of money. Second is many have openly stated the only way to get rid of Trump is if the economy fails. Couple that with what I am hearing is a lower death rate. I'm not sure where your numbers are coming from? And I don't care what other countries are seeing. No comparison to our health system and it is not as good as it should be.

And overall it doesn't matter. We can die from the virus or from the destruction of our economy as we turn to socialism. I'll take my chances with the virus. At least I will live or die on my own two feet and not at the whims of a socialist country.

Unclear at the moment. Contagion rates are estimated at 2 to 2.5. But it's deadlier than the flu to certain cohorts.

Very interesting. Thanks for putting that here. I have understood this is much more contagious than the normal flu. But, I could be wrong. My position might be based on bogus reports.

With all due respect, SK has a population of 54 million vs the US's 350 million.

In addition, it is a homogenous country not the hodge-podge of different political hotspots of Dems who'd do everything to stall any effective measure to stop the virus spread.

It also doesn't help that the likes of Piglosi and Schumer are volleying off attacks daily to weaken Trumps' efforts. The last thing they want to see is a concerted effort, backing the president and successfully contain the epidemic.

    There you have it.

Europe is not better either: the left liberal opposition consistently torpedo govt efforts to fight the virus. Their reason: "We don't want to give the government full authority to handle the crisis."

    Damn the death rate...

The death rate is ratcheting up, check the stats.

From March 17th e.g. 2 weeks ago, the stats were as below:

    - Global death rate: increased from 3.84% to 4.70%. It is probably higher b/c the underreported Chinese cases.

    - USA death rate remained the same from 1.84% to 1.8%;

    - CA death rate increased from1.82% to 2.13%.

It is States like CA, NY, NJ, CT, WA that will drive the increased cases. They have been slow acting, with predictable results. Mobility of people from these states to others is not helping, either. Still Cuomo intends to sue RI b/c the State is turning back NY cars.

Do you have any proof of your belief that this was an attempt to get rid of Trump?

Trump has said as much that the restrictions should be lifted base upon local conditions. I doubt the Dem governors will help him, but Trump has a knack of getting things done right.

BTW, it is not only the lung impaired who succumb to the virus.. There are several publication daily on perfectly healthy young adults who die.

We have, Exceller, as mentioned in the essay, a rapidly increasing detection rate. The infection spread in Nov 2019-Feb 2020, undetected.

And yes, since recovery for but the lung-impaired is 100%, what matters is the death rate, which can be managed to well under 0.5%; again see the essay for reasons how (even while letting "non-essential" businesses work.

I don't really care about the infection rate. I care about the death percentage and that seems very low. I'll be concerned if the death rate ratchets up, which it is not currently doing. I see this as the next political stunt to try and get rid of Trump.

I am puzzled at your logic.

With all the precaution installed, we still have a rapidly increasing infection rate in the USA. Check the stats.

What do you think it would be like if no restrictions were implemented? You think you'd have buyers in the small business sector should people be allowed to freely move around?

It is mostly the younger generation who shrugs off the restrictions with well documented results of infection to follow.

I assume you count yourself among the 1% who should be sacrificed according to your metric.

Whining over the situation never helps. Doing your part does.

Control by the banking cartel, who benefit from every expansion of credit, hasn't worked (except to create inflation and steal from producers) since 1913.
I do acknowledge your point, ed.
The real problem is the power of central government and it must be reduced by more than 90% to early 19th century levels. If Trump is not successful, there will be a collapse and a likely violent revolution.

So you believe it is a good thing to have the president in charge of the money? Might be okay with Trump but what about future? Isn't this short term solution to a long term problem? Am I missing something?

    RIP Federal Reserve!!!

    This is Huge!!!!

"This scheme essentially merges the Fed and Treasury into one organization. So, meet your new Fed chairman, Donald J. Trump.

“But it’s the alphabet soup of new programs that deserve special consideration, as they could have profound long-term consequences for the functioning of the Fed and the allocation of capital in financial markets. Specifically, these are:

CPFF (Commercial Paper Funding Facility) – buying commercial paper from the issuer. PMCCF (Primary Market Corporate Credit Facility) – buying corporate bonds from the issuer. TALF (Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility) – funding backstop for asset-backed securities. SMCCF (Secondary Market Corporate Credit Facility) – buying corporate bonds and bond ETFs in the secondary market. MSBLP (Main Street Business Lending Program) – Details are to come, but it will lend to eligible small and medium-size businesses, complementing efforts by the Small Business Association.

To put it bluntly, the Fed isn’t allowed to do any of this. The central bank is only allowed to purchase or lend against securities that have government guarantee. This includes Treasury securities, agency mortgage-backed securities and the debt issued by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. An argument can be made that can also include municipal securities, but nothing in the laundry list above.

So how can they do this? The Fed will finance a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for each acronym to conduct these operations. The Treasury, using the Exchange Stabilization Fund, will make an equity investment in each SPV and be in a “first loss” position. What does this mean? In essence, the Treasury, not the Fed, is buying all these securities and backstopping of loans; the Fed is acting as banker and providing financing. The Fed hired BlackRock Inc. to purchase these securities and handle the administration of the SPVs on behalf of the owner, the Treasury.

In other words, the federal government is nationalizing large swaths of the financial markets. The Fed is providing the money to do it. BlackRock will be doing the trades.

This scheme essentially merges the Fed and Treasury into one organization. So, meet your new Fed chairman, Donald J. Trump.

In 2008 when something similar was done, it was on a smaller scale. Since few understood it, the Bush and Obama administrations ceded total control of those acronym programs to then-Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke. He unwound them at the first available opportunity. But now, 12 years later, we have a much better understanding of how they work. And we have a president who has made it very clear how displeased he is that central bankers haven’t used their considerable power to force the Dow Jones Industrial Average at least 10,000 points higher, something he has complained about many times before the pandemic hit.”

Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened. But I hope that an early end to the shutdown, with precautions being taken at workplaces, and the vulnerable shielded, happens.

All of us small businesses will be broke before this is over and all because the media and Democrats found a button to push that worked. Scared people to death and Trump fell for it. If we are not back to work by Easter, we are in trouble that we may never recover. This is already worse than 2008 by far.
