Can we please stop demonizing butter?! So what they've saying iiiiis, providing healthy food choices means eliminating choices so you no longer have a choice...hence forced to eat food you don't want...Or eat nothing. Of course getting the gov out of schools would cure this...I choose that option....And a big pink cookie.

Let's just agree, Michelle Obama knows about as much about nutrition as Al Gore knows about science, and Obama knows about economics! The self-proclaimed experts never studied in their so-called field's of expertise. The kids were going hungry - AFTER the schools started following her guidelines. some opted out, but our good ole Ohio is a little slow on the uptake. They are thinking about reversing Common Core approval, but have not acted. They may think about legislation to stop UN Agenda 21, but still thinking on that one too, for over a year now.

It is easy to count up the calories in a recipe. So they should just make teeny-tiny pink cookies with 200 cal each. Then the students can take 'a handful' as they go through the cafeteria line.

...It obeys the letter of the law, and the spirit of freedom is laughing its alabaster head off!

Recipe: I eat paleo, and I love Toll house cookies. So I have redacted the recipe to use almond flour and cashew flour instead of wheat flour (nut flours have high protein, low simple carb content) and a small amount of raw honey instead of a lot of sugar. I then smash up >70% chocolate bars (because I cannot find choc chips >70%) and put those in lavishly. My (non-paleo) colleagues at work respond enthusiastically when I make too big a batch and have to hand some out.

    Jan, strategy is ALL

What a bunch of nonsense. Notice how they still call it a "guideline". When's the last time you've seen a guideline come out of our government. I just hope more people will take notice as to what's happening before they ban pork (that stuff we eat that comes from pigs).

You know, in most European countries, the public schools don't even provide lunch for the students. They're given a lunch hour, but they're expected to bring their own food from home. Not sure why this idea hasn't caught on in the U.S. =/

I remember bringing a brown bag in the late 50's. And way back in early 50's I remember stuffing the schools toasted cheese sandwiches into my milk carton because they made me feel sick. There was monitor standing by the trash to make sure no one wasted any food.

Someone ought to obtain the original recipe and start producing the pink cookies him/herself.

Whether to produce for the family alone, to mass-produce, or broadcast the recipe is up to that person's selfish-interest.
