those two are on the opposite ends of the political spectrum when it comes to the logical implementation of policy. John is right up there with Lindsey Graham as being a publicity hound.

Neocon is a term was created by statists to be a pejorative blunt instrument to destroy an individual that liberal cannot beat in the arena of ideas.

I don't think Dick Cheney or John McCain are Jewish, and they are my prototypical neocons. If that is the statist code, I think the code is wrong.

neocon is kind of a statist code word for conservative Jew, which I don't think applies here. WJB was definitely catholic, strong anti abortion stance, but very libertarian on many issues.

Started in the 50 s by William F Buckley Jr. The contributors are a who 's who of conservative and religious thought. Originally the magazine was focused on anti -communism. The content quality is pretty good. They are backed by the think tank Heritage Foundation. STeven Moore, Krauthammer, Kudlow, D 'Souza, Pragar, Levin, Sowell are contributors. The editor formerly worked as a research asst for Krauthammer. He moved up the ranks of the magazine after winning a contest for young conservative writers. I see the online version as mainstream conservative. They are Beltway influenced, have been critical of tea
party movement and then full of praise when an election is close. It 's not libertarian but past contributors when Buckley ran it included von Mises, Hazlit, Hitchens

NR does the biding of people in the pursuit of limited government, intellectual honesty and personal freedom. While those is a common bidding of politicians associated with an "R" or "L" , It is nearly impossible to find a "D" that has those as agenda items. NR certainly had a conservative edge under William F Buckley ( not as much under his son ), but like Ronald Reagan said - it is my favorite magazine. When they make an error, it is front in center in the next issue in their corrections box.
There is nothing in Brent Bozel's article that can be refuted with facts. Not true with the subjects of his critic of the the MSM.

I don't know. I don't usually read it (I got this article from a link on the Drudge Report), but my impression is that they are a mainline, neocon, Republican publication (which is why I don't usually read it). Can anyone in the Gulch further enlighten me?
