Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez illuminated her relative lack of knowledge of human history yet again last night, this time telling her Instagram Live followers that the United States is "running concentration camps" on the southern border. Not only does Rep. Ocasio-Cortez cheapen the significance of the Holocaust with this remark, she also damages the Democratic Party who in previous years has caged illegal aliens children in the exact same detention facilities but more recently has denied billions of dollars in funding to address the migrant crisis.”

    The "migrants" are free to return to their homes in their home countries. People herded into concentration camps in WW2 ... were not.

    I don't believe the detention camps are involved in the following
    1. Forced Labor in local companies and corporations
    2. Mass murder of detainees
    3. Medical experiments on detainees
    4. torture of detainees
    5. Forcing detainees to ware clothes to humiliate and degrade
    6. seizure of all personal belongings and money

    I'm sure the detention sites are not pleasant but they are far from concentration camps. They are probably better than Manzanar was.

      The detainees are actually getting better health care - at the cost of the US taxpayer - than they could get even by the best in their home nation(s). And I don't see them complaining about being mistreated when the option is to return to their native countries full of despotism, crime, and few options.

    Even a rock has more sense than her. How do I know this? Because in her case the old saying "It's better to remain silent and have others think you're stupid than to speak and remove all doubt" is absolutely true and the rock isn't saying anything.

      She is smart actually. Her job is to propose all the outlandish things that the DNC wants to float trial balloons on. She is a waitress and knows nothing really about what she speaks. Just collecting money for doing what the DNC wants.

            IMHO, her handlers have a very good chance of getting her re-elected provided another Neo-Communist (D) doesn't step up in a primary race and win in the spring of 2020. That is, only another Neo-Communist can unseat her. She represents a very "blue" district that depends on loot from others and will always vote for "free stuff" promises. A Republican doesn't stand a chance there - unless some miracle happens.

              You might have a point there, assuming she in fact likes politics and her constituents are ok with her idiotic pronouncements. Her anti amazon stance didn’t help her

              Pelosi would do anything to unseat trump and that means putting up with AOC to Help the dems take an acceptably ok middle of the road stance and win. If trump wins in 2020 anyway, the dems will have suffered a crippling loss and will have to put up with trump for only 4 more years. If trump loses, the dems won’t need AOC any longer and she will be dumped

                I suspect the Neo-Communists (D) could run Ms/Mr Igneous Rock in AOC's district and it would win against any Republican. To beat AOC, Neo-Communist Rock would have to be African and it would be a very close race. Her district has been brainwashed for decades to vote according to identity politics, rational thought is irrelevant.

                A Trump victory in 2020 would only have the most positive impact if the Republicans can hold on to the Senate and retake the House. Otherwise, it's the same mess we're seeing now - worse if the Reps lose the Senate. The only way the Demonrats will get rid of AOC is as I said above.

    At some point, this idiot is gonna flame out big time. My most sincere hope is that more and more of the front-running Dems align themselves with her policies, so that her eventual fall from grace takes as many others as possible.

    AOC raises my range over this issue! I'm not Jewish but I have a book "Forgotten Holocaust" The Poles under German Occupation 1939-1944" that paint an even more horrific picture of not only what happened to the Jews but also Polish citizens at that time. AOC is a stupid woman. There is a whole slew of adjectives that would describe her appalling lack of historical knowlege.

    The Justice Democrats may have put those words into their little puppet's mouth.
    Besides painting Trump as Hitler, this may have been a deliberate attempt to offend American Jews and all of Israel.

    Apparently she's not running for any office, perhaps even going to be unelected for the next term. She's dumb enough to think that belittling the people will get her votes, like Hillary calling half the population deplorables, and even running from the media that was doing nothing but kissing her ars. Perhaps just her up brining.

    Notice too, old Joe is the same, his campaign so far looks as if he isn't having any fun at all. It's got to be so depressing for those that actually attend. He will be losing more votes than the gaining votes if he keeps it up. Unlike Trump, who knows how to have fun and instill enthusiasm in the people no matter what he says.
