"Beverly Hills could become the first city in the United States to ban the sale of tobacco products.
The Beverly Hills City Council is set to vote on Tuesday evening on an ordinance that would ban the sale of cigarettes, cigars and other tobacco products at all retail locations within the tony Southern California city, including gas stations, convenience stores, pharmacies and newsstands.
Several high-end cigar lounges would be exempt from the rule as would hotels provided they sell tobacco products to guests through concierge services."

The exceptions to this are notable. "Several High End cigar stories" and marijuana are exempted. the High end stores because money talks and marijuana because , well because.
Smoking marijuana has been shown to cause brain lesions and damage the lungs more than tobacco. But that's OK because you feel so good while doing it.

I think smoking marijuana is not more dangerous than tobacco if it's filtered. Regardless, it's the smoker's risk to take. I don't like the smell of tobacco in restaurants, but I think it's totally wrong to stop people from smoking. It's up to the property owner and the smoker to make their own choices.
