Trump is living up to his populist promise

"Left-wing populists such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) have been campaigning on a “people vs. the powerful” theme all year. Trump’s alternative offers people real power without hobbling them with higher taxes. He should make measures such as these a more prominent feature of his reelection campaign and recapture the populist mantle from his Democratic competition."

Warren and Saunders are trying to be something they are not. Sooner or later the real candidate will emerge and be revealed for public consumption.
Trum has always been open and shown who he is.
The people recognize this and appreciate and respect this (for the most part).

After watching the Democrat debates and forcing my gorge to be suppressed, several things jumped out: Biden is a dead candidate walking, with big donors withdrawing support; Sanders is a dead candidate walking, after being forced to admit he would have to raise taxes on everyone, not just the rich; Warren and Harris are the flavor of the week, with too many flaws to withstand close scrutiny; the few who mouthed moderate words are DOA, out of step with the AOC-driven agenda. The one candidate who drew the most inquiries from the public, in spite of being censored to a miserable eight minutes, was Tulsi Gabbard, whom I have always viewed as a dark horse candidate.

Ms Gabbard is a real Iraq war vet, as opposed to phony Mayor Pete (who I suspect is also out, due to his disastrous town hall). She served in a medical unit, trying to piece bodies back together, and still holds the rank of Major in the Hawaii National Guard. She stood out in the debates as the only candidate who expressed a passionate antiwar position. She's attractive, young (38), interviews well, and can hold her own in a debate. For Democrats always looking for "firsts," she would be the first Hindu to potentially reside in the White House.

Unfortunately, Rep. Gabbard signed up to most of the far left Democrat agenda. She did hedge her bets carefully, with caveats as to how to get to the wild goals pragmatically, which means a shift to the center in the general election would be easier for her than most of the others. She's the out of the blue candidate to watch, IMHO.

"Rep. Gabbard signed up to most of the far left Democrat agenda"
Hawaii is the most communist state of all, even exceeding KA. Hardly any wonder she endorsed Bernie and signed on for the complete socialist agenda.

She has NEVER held any productive job in her life (per wikipedia.) Being a politician and nurses aide in Iraq does not qualify her to lead anything.
However, she is a well qualified Democrat candidate for anything since she is a non-white female who has never produced anything and wants to tell every producer what to do.

I don't think any Democrat has a prayer of defeating Trump, unless the economy takes a radical downturn, or another 9/11 type event occurs. My comment was a mental exercise based on what Democrat voters have been telling the press about what they're looking for: someone neither "pale, male, or stale," an out of the box candidate, with fresh ideas. Gabbard seems to hit this on all cylinders, and is a "show horse" who presents herself well. Being a Hindu is another less recognized plus, neither a devout Christian, a religion the Democrats seem to want to blame for all the wrongs in the world, nor a Muslim, with all the baggage that entails outside of a few ratholes.

"The People's Republic Of China" has never been about the "We The People" of our constitutional republic.
The socialist "Power to the people" slogan of the Sixties isn't really about that either.

Demos offer "pay for power" (taxes) = their power.
Trump offers "Earn Power" (jobs and low taxes) = your power.

The power of the Demos requires no responsibility...except a vote for them...and you'll be no better for it, but they will.

The power granted by our constitution and championed by Trump comes with Maximum responsibility and you Will be better for it.
