Mystery sea opened up during the Antarctic winter. Now, scientists know why.
"Now, researchers led by Diana Francis, a New York University Abu Dhabi atmospheric scientist, find that cyclonic winds push ice in opposite directions, causing the pack to open up and expose open sea."
Those cyclones must have some hellish winds to push the ice in opposite directions and clear the water in the Antartic winder. Glad I'm not there.

Seems to me there is much the scientists do not know or understand or have yet to comprehend on this planet. Too bad we have less than 12 years to figure it all out "Rolls Eyes"Permalink|
