And now NBC gets sued by Covington family for $275 million

It started on a day of outrage that lasted a week, sparked by a number of main stream media companies pushing their false narrative. Hate for a white Christian male teen spread like wildfire. Now they are being systematically sued.

You may remember the social media frenzy in January of a smiling Christian teenager wearing a red Make America Great Again hat and an old Indian banging a drum in his face.

I have some reservations about this also. If these were over the air broadcasters I would go after the FCC Licenses Take them off the air until unless they conform to the old set of reportorial behavior. Not saying they cannot take opposite sides of an incident, but they have to provide the factual basis for the report not an edited down 20 seconds from a two hour event.
The money is trivial compared to the discord and harm arising from the reporting of knowingly incorrect information about the incident.

I have reservations about this. Only the lawyers are going to benefit. Admittedly the child was injured by false accusations. But, 'sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!' I knew as I watched this, it was wrong. He didn't do anything and I was incredulous over the news reactions.
