When my soldier returned from Viet Nam the second time, it was on the front page of the Houston Chronicle welcoming him safely home! Not today, unfortunately.

If you want a counter point to this and feel a little better about the respect shown our fallen military watch the movie "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacan. About what transpires when a LTC marine officer transports a soldier home. excellent movie.
